• Plants are found in almost every region on earth. Different regions have different
climates like some regions have extremely hot climate while some regionshave extremely
cold climate.
• Do you think that the plants growing in different regions are the same or different? Why?
Think about the answer and then open your textbook and learn about adaptation by
reading the content on page number 38.
• Similarly read about what a habitat is. (refer to page no. 38 of textbook)
Types of plants:
• Plants adapt specific characteristic features to survive in their respective habitats.
• According to their habitats (place where they grow) plants are further classified as:
 Terrestrial plants and
 Aquatic plants

shown in the PPT. After seeing the PPT describe the adaptations of plants growing in
plains with the help of suitable examples in your rough notebook.

Plants in Coastal regions:

• The part of land adjoining or near the sea is known as coast.


• Discuss with your parents about the challenges of plants growing in coastal regions.

• After seeing the video copy and answer the following questionsin your rough notebook.
