Task 1
You have recently attended a sports show entitled ‘Sports: Around the World’ and one of those sports you
found very enjoyable. Your Principal has asked you for ideas for a new sport to be added to your co-
curricular activities at school. Write a report to your Principal stating why you would like this sport to be
added at school.

Write your report. You must include the following:

 what the sport is and the reasons you found it very enjoyable
 details of what the school needs to provide (for example, a playing field, equipment, qualified
instructors and etc.)
 what benefits would come to the students and the school if this sport is added

Cover all three points above in detail. You should make your report polite and informative. Start your report
‘To the Principal’ and remember to supply an appropriate ending.

Section 2: Composition

5. Write a story which includes the words: ‘We waited anxiously for five minutes but still no one had
emerged.’
6. Write a story in which a broken light plays a major part.

Yesterday a rumour spread in your locality. As a consequence of the rumour, there was a terrible clash
between some local people and the police. As you are the witness, the police have asked you to write a
report on this.
Your report must include the following:

 what the rumour was and how it was spread

 describe the clash between the local people and the police as well as the casualty
 what the role of the police was and how the misunderstanding was resolved

You must cover all three points in detail. You should add further details if you wish and make your report
accurate.
