With ever more diverse card types available on the market, increasing volume of card
transactions and soaring levels of fraudulent activity, a secure, effective and flexible card
personalisation system is a must. Whilst magnetic stripe cards are still in circulation,
smart card technology is not only up and running but is on the way to replacing mag-
stripe cards. EMV (Europay, MasterCard and Visa) has become the industry standard
for chip cards. It defines the standards for many aspects of chip card deployment,
including the visual appearance of a card, hardware and software for POS-terminals,
personalisation, cryptography, transaction processing algorithms etc. As with magnetic
stripe cards, one of the key components of EMV technology is card personalisation and
issuance. However, ensuring that these procedures are EMV-compliant requires heavy
investments on the issuers’ side.
TranzWare Card Factory is a refined card personalisation and issuing solution specifically designed to drive the costs of EMV
card personalisation and issuance down, therefore, enabling card issuers to satisfy the demands of any market in a cost-
effective, efficient and secure way.
The product offers a staged approach to card personalisation and provides comprehensive support for data preparation, card
personalisation and issuing of EMV as well as magnetic stripe cards, all integrated into one expedient system. The staged
approach to card personalisation and unlimited near-linear scalability allows TranzWare Card Factory to be efficiently deployed
at small banks with a small scale issuance as well as at personalisation bureaus, multi-branch banks and independent
organisations serving several banks practicing large-scale card personalisation and issuance. TranzWare Card Factory also
offers the possibility of setting up a personalisation centre with distributed workstations providing encrypted data exchange
between them.
