4. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
5. CONCLUSIONS
The paper must include a section describing the main conclusions of the study,
derived from analysis of the results. This section should be clear and accurate, and
the length should be consistent with the results of the study.
6. ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
7. CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
All authors are obliged to explicitly declare any possible conflict of interest, be it
financial, professional or personal, which may inappropriately influence the results
obtained or the proposed interpretations.
8. REFERENCES
IEEE citation style is used. References should be numbered and placed in the
order they appear in the text. When citing a reference in the text of the document,
write the number of the reference in brackets, before the punctuation mark [1]. In
sentences, simply cite the reference number, as in [2]. Do not use “Ref. [2]” or
“reference [2]”, except at the beginning of a sentence. Multiple references are each
numbered in separate brackets, e.g., “…as demonstrated in [3], [4] and according to
[5]-[7]”. You may specify the author(s), but you must always provide the reference
number, e.g., “…as shown by Brown [8]; Brown and Jones [9], [10]; and Wood et al.
[11]-[13]”. Use “et al.” when three or more authors are mentioned.
The references must be at the end of the manuscript. They should be listed in the
order of citation in the text, not in alphabetical order. Each source cited in the paper
must appear in the reference list; likewise, each entry in the reference list must be
cited in the text. Do not use the word “Bibliography” as a synonym of “References”.
The number of citations and references must be consistent with the work, its
length, and type. For a research paper it is expected that the number of references
is between 20 and 30, while for a literature review paper, a minimum of 50
references is required. The citation to articles published in the TecnoLógicas journal
should not exceed three (3) articles, and in any case should not exceed 10% of the
all references, except in the case of systematic reviews, in which the search and
selection methodology lead to include a larger number of them. The citation to
previous works of the authors themselves (auto citations), must be strictly justified
by the content of the manuscript, and the excess of these should be avoided.
To include a citation, authors should consult the original documents, which
should preferably be scientific documents, avoiding citing local reports of limited
scope and visibility, or non-formal references, such as Web pages, blogs, among
others. Unpublished results and personal communications should not be included in
the list of references, but they can be mentioned in the text of the manuscript.
The references should be entered using a reference manager. Although any of
the widely used software (Zotero and EndNote, among others) is accepted,
Mendeley (https://www.mendeley.com) is recommended for this purpose.
Additionally, if your manuscript is accepted, you should send the .bib file that
contains each reference in the text.
The format of the references should be as follows. Note that if the documents
referenced have the Digital Object Identification (DOI), this must be included at the
end of the reference, using its full https link.
