ABSTRACT
This project defines the integral solution proposed for the problem that currently prevails in
the village of Natalá in the municipality of Toribio. The central problem is that the
population of the area has unmet basic drinking water needs, because the structures that are
responsible for supplying the population, do not have the necessary technical rigor, thus
causing an inefficient use of this resource and consequently, delays in agricultural activities
which are vital for the subsistence of the inhabitants of the area. The solution includes the
detailed design for the improvement of an aqueduct system together with its respective
elements (intake, desander and branched network) and a bahareque house with integrated
farm system (the concept of 'Tulle' is defined in the document) which will have a rainwater
collection system, a gray and black water treatment system and a solar energy utilization
system. This solution was developed based on the relevant studies and analyzes regarding
the topography of the land, the location of the elements of the existing aqueduct, the
distribution of the aqueduct network, the study of soils and hydrology and the political,
social and economic context (both short-term and long-term). All this is done in order to
optimize the use of the water resource used by the community for the development of their
agricultural activities, thus generating a higher quality of life, a good production rhythm for
the area and a sustainability framework that is responsible to carry out the fulfillment of
socio-economic objectives of the population within the area of influence of the project.
