Psalm 27:4
One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of
my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD
And to meditate in His temple.
Psalm 34:8
O taste and see that the LORD is good;
How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
TALK TOGETHER.
1. According to the verse, what is David’s chief aim and
main preoccupation – his one thing?
2. What does it mean to “dwell in the house of the Lord?”
What does that look like?
3. What does it mean “to behold the beauty of the LORD
and to meditate in His temple?” Do you find delight
when you look at God? How do you see Him?
4. Where did David ask for direction and instruction?
5. Why do you think David wanted to be always in God’s
presence? In Psalm 34:8, how did he experience God?
What was his description of Him?
CONVICTION
To be intimate with God and be in His presence should
be my highest aim. He is worthy of my praise and I should
devote my all to Him!
APPLICATION
Is intimacy with God your “one thing”? What habits and
practical steps will you do so you can be more intimate
with the Him?
PRAY TOGETHER.
Dear Father, we praise you for You are worthy. we delight in
Your goodness. Just like David, help us to develop habits that
will bring us closer to You. In Jesus Name, amen.
