ABSTRACT

             Water Spinach (Kang Kong) is one of the popular healthy green leafy

vegetables that can be easily found in tropical and subtropical regions like the

Philippines. The leaves of water spinach are extremely nutritious, containing

abundant quantities of vitamins like vitamin A and C  and a good source of

minerals. It is also an excellent source of dietary fiber, protein, calcium and

iron. According to research it reduces cholesterol and excellent options for

those who want to lose weight, effective treatment of diabetes, jaundice, liver

problems, ulcer, menstrual pains l, toothache, launched urination, nosebleed,

indigestion for it is rich in fiber and constipation. It can also be used as a

protection against heart diseases, prevention of cancer, beneficial for the eyes,

it can boost body's immunity and it also has anti aging benefits. The  study

aimed to determine the feasibility of making water spinach, to a guilt free

delicious and cheap healthy food, into a profitable sole proprietorship. The

study utilized the feasibility method of research. The respondents of the study
are the 39 grocery stores of City of San Fernando, La Union using random

sampling techniques. The acceptability and marketability data is gathered

through the use of survey questionnaires and interviews. The results show that

water spinach was feasible as a nuggets and was given an excellent response

from the market.
