From my research I had spent time to find a suitable location
for where my action will take place as I had saw in the short
films that they use locations which either has a link to the
character or the producer personally. So I tried to find a
location which would link to gang culture and represents their
lifestyles however since google maps is not updated I couldn’t
go to the location my self to see if it was suitable enough I
couldn’t do this due to the covid 19 lockdown that we are in so
I decided to pick a location that I have been to before as I
know it is reliable and it would represent gang lifestyle.
Research into proffesionals had helped me as I could see what
techniques they had done to portray their point and saw how
they adapted therefore I can persoannly use their skills in
order to make my short film more professional and use the
skills to make my short film look more realistic. The code and
convetions they use gave me a way to use them into my own
short films and saw the way they had used them and therefore
interpret that into my own production.
Researcn into my target audience had helped me as I
sent out several surveys asking what they would like to
see in my short film and therefore implied the feedback
into my short film. For example I had asked how long
they would like my short film to be and what they
would like to see portrayed in it so I can use this as
feedback and put their ideas into my productions as my
short film is based of what my target audience would
like to see. However I would like to do a focus group in
order to expand my research but I cant due to this
lockdown
My research into my platform helped me improve my
idea since I had saw what platform my target audience
would like to see my short film on therefore I had
adapted to put a trailer into my social media as some
had said that they watch on social media so I will put a
trailer into the social media and have the link to the
short film in the description therefore attracting more
audience and making more views
