In this semester, I not only learned the basic computer technology such as Word, Excel

and Powerpoint, but also mastered some new skills, such as coding, editing pictures,

digital stories and so on. I was impressed by the learning of coding, screenshot,

screencasting and digital stories.

Before learning this course, I think coding is to use some professional and advanced

programming language for computer according to edit a good program to run, but with

the popularity of computer technology, we can contact to programming in school, and

can be done by some coding program to let us do some coding work, such as creating

some simple games. Learning to code had a positive effect on me. First, it can improve

my logical thinking ability and problem-solving ability. Each programming task

requires careful logical thinking to analyze the problem, so that the computer can

express the result we want. Secondly, it can improve my patience. For example, editing

a game requires a lot of tedious process to create a perfect game, which requires some

patience. Thirdly, learning programming enables me to have a skill. Nowadays, more

and more companies need talents who can program, so having a coding skill are very

helpful to my future employment. Video and screenshots are common in our daily life,

but it was only after learning this course that I really mastered it. Before learning, I

always know that only mobile phones could take screenshots. After learning module 14,

I learned to take screenshots on the computer and edit screenshots on the computer.

When a friend or family member asks about an operation on an electronic product, the

video and screenshot can be shared with them intuitively. Before, I always thought that

recording screen is a very difficult thing, but after learning step by step, I found that

there are many recording and screenshot software that can help us quickly record the

information and explanations on the screen and share them with others. Mastering this

technique can simplify many, many complex things and is an important skill in life. In

the future, if my friends or family members want to ask me questions about using the

computer, I can use the video screen to explain clearly to them, which can save a lot of

time. Digital narrative is a very important skill. Before taking this course, I had seen

others make videos, but I had never tried it. This course gave me the opportunity to try

it. I learned how to link video clips together, how to insert subtitles, and how to insert

sound. Digital narrative can not only tell the story I want to share to others, but also

record every bit of my life, which plays an important role in our lives.

In general, the study in this semester made me very happy and benefited a lot. It not

only made me more skilled in some basic computer technologies, but also made me

understand some emerging technologies, which enabled me to master a lot of basic

skills. If there is an opportunity, I would like to learn some advanced technologies.
