SUBJECT : RESCU 406(SG)

Kepada Yth. Rekan-rekan Awak Kabin,


To All Respective Flight Attendants,

Bersama dengan ini kami informasikan Emergency Equipment Emergency Locator Transmitter jenis baru yaitu
RESCU 406(SG).

Adapun dengan keterangan sebagai berikut :

We would like to inform you the new type of Emergency Locator Transmitter with the type is RESCU 406(SG).

The information as follows:

TYPE RESCU 406 (SG)

DESCRIPTION:
 Frequencies : 121.5 MHz and 406.040 MHz
 The transmitter has a toggle switch with an OFF/ON/ARM positions.
 Battery endurance: 50 hours at 121.5 MHz and 24 hours at 406 MHz

PRE-FLIGHT CHECK:
 Secure and proper location
 Antenna is not broken
 ELT switch ARM position

OPERATION:
If ELT is to transmit from land, do as follows:
1. Open quick release latch of mounting bracket and remove RESCU 406(SG) ELT
2. Move RESCU 406(SG) ELT to an area clear of obstructions and select highest point for best
transmission.
3. Manually set front panel switch to “ON” position.
4. Release tape antenna from the stowed position under the foam flotation ring, to the upright position.

5. For best transmission, stand clear of ELT/antenna view of open sky.

6. The ELT indicator light will start to blink in amber color to indicate transmission.
7. After less than 3 minutes of transmission, the blinking indicator light may change to green color if GPS
position has been decoded by the ELT.
8. Activation light indicator:
a. Blinks amber color light every 2 seconds for up to 3 minutes to indicate transmission.
b. After 2-3 minutes, the indicator light color may change to green color if GPS (Global Positioning
System) position has been detected.

If ELT is to transmit while floating on water, do as follows:
1. Open quick release latch of mounting bracket and remove RESCU 406(SG) ELT.
2. Break tape holding cord wound on lanyard card and pull clear of RESCU 406(SG) ELT.
3. Tie cord securely to suitable tethering point of life vest or Slide/Life Raft ( if available )
4. Make sure that the front panel switch is in the ARM position.
5. Release tape antenna from the stowed position under the foam flotation ring, to the upright position.
6. Place RESCU 406(SG) ELT in water.
7. The RESCU 406(SG) ELT is now activated and the LED indicator on the ELT will flash with amber color
approximately every 2 seconds. When the GPS position has been detected by the internal receiver, then
the LED will blink with a green color.
NOTE: Effective transmission of the emergency signals, do not occur until antenna is in the upright
position
8. Activation light indicator:
a. Blink amber color light every 2 seconds for up to 3 minutes to indicate transmission.
b. After 2-3 minutes, the indicator light color may change to green color if GPS position has been
detected.
To deactivate the ELT, set the ELT switch to OFF position
