3.3 Calculation of Relay setting Current:

Formula for stabilizing resistor (Rst) is given by
Rst : (Vs/Is)-Rr

Where Vs = Voltage across relay circuit

Rst= Stabilizing resistor
= 1000 ohms
Is = Relay Setting current
Rr = Relay Burden
VA Burden (Pr)= 0.1 VA at Inom=1A
Rr = Pr/Inom^2
Rr = 0.1 ohm
Hence from the above Is can be calculated as follow:

Is = Vs/(Rst+Rr)
= 0.323
Is = 0.32

3.4 Minimum Operating current calculation

Operating Current of relay at selected setting : CT ratio (Is + n x Ie)
Number of CT's in Parallel n : 2
Ie at the stability voltage : Vs/(vk/2)*Imag@vk
Ie @ Vs : 59.22668 mA
Iop : 993.32 A

Which is = (Iop / FLC) x 100

= (993.320236069573 / 2133.45849623178) x 100
= 46.559 %
= 45 % or 46 % of FLC roughly
Normally REF setting between 10-60% FLC is enough for satisfactory operation
