Policies and Procedures

Course Communication Policy:

My preferred method of contact is via email at trodriguez@citruscollege.edu Please identify


yourself with your first and last name and the course you are enrolled in by the CRN number. My office
phone number is 626-914-8658. Please contact me to arrange an office meeting.

I will usually respond within 24 hours during the week. If you have not received a response
within 24 hours, please resend your email or call again. I cannot guarantee a 24 hour response time on
the weekends. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Please use your Citrus College email for any communication. If you have trouble with your Citrus
email, please contact Citrus College Tech Services at 626-914-8810.

Attendance/Drop Policy:

Students are expected to participate in class regularly. Online participation and assignment
submission are classified as your attendance. All students are required to participate in the Check in
Discussion Forum by the due date of Day 3 of class. If no participation or communication is attempted
before Day 7 of class, you will be dropped from this course. If two assignments/quizzes/exams are
missed in a row, you will be dropped from this course. Complete all the assignments by the due dates
within the first week of class, or you may be dropped from this course. Please make an effort to contact
the instructor if questions.

It is also your responsibility to officially withdrawal from this class, if necessary by the deadline stated in
the schedule of classes.
* The last date to drop this course with no grade is: 03/01/2020
* The last date to Withdrawal with a “W” grade from this course is: 04/29/2020
IMPORTANT: If you wish to withdrawal from this course and do not do so by the date listed above or in
the schedule of courses, you will receive a regular grade in this course (an F if your work is incomplete or
you stop attending).

Assignment/Late Work Policy:

All assignments must be presented on the due dates as stated in this document or as announced
in class. Reading assignments or due dates for written assignments may be changed with notice from the
instructor. No late work will be accepted, nor missed exams/quizzes made up unless previous
arrangements have been made with the instructor (or the instructor determines the reason for the late
work/missed exam warrants the opportunity to make up the assignment). Penalties may be applied to
the late work and will be determined by the instructor (such as half points given for late work). It is your
responsibility to complete readings/assignments to stay on course for this class. **Schedule, Labs, or
Assignments may be subject to change, it is the student’s responsibility to regularly log into class for
updates!
Academic Honesty

It is expected that all work submitted for grading is original, not copied from others, and that the work
being graded is indeed done by the student who is receiving the grade. Cheating and plagiarism are
serious violations of the student code. Cheating or plagiarizing will result in a zero on the assignment or
test and may result in suspension, failure in the course, and/or other disciplinary action taken by the
College. All incidents of cheating or plagiarizing are reported to the Dean of Students.

Student Code of Conduct

An important part of fulfilling the College’s mission is providing a student discipline process that
promotes student accountability and social responsibility, as well as maintaining a college environment
that is respectful, inclusive, and collegial that is free from intimidation, threats, coercion, or violence.

Any conduct or behavior that disrupts the learning environment is a potential violation of the Student
Code of Conduct (BP 5500) as written in the Citrus College catalog. Any conduct or behavior that
interferes with any students attaining his or hers academic goals, maintaining the orderly operations of
the College, or presents a threat to the health and safety of the campus community is a behavior of
concern. College faculty, staff, administrators, and students are encouraged to report violations to the
Dean of Students and disciplinary actions may be taken.

Sexual Misconduct
