Connect the ControlLogix and the IV series as shown below.

 CHAPTER 3 Settings for Communication
Use the Ethernet cable OP-87457 to connect Select “Advanced”  “Environmental”  “Field
1 IV to your PC 4 Network”, and set the “Protocol” to “EtherNet/IP”

2 Start IV-Navigator

Double click the icon of IV-Navigator 5 Set the IP address of IV (“192.168.0.103”).

on your desktop.

3 Select “Network Connection” and connect to IV-H

Please be sure that your PC’s IP address is fixed, and the IP

address of IV-H is initialized (“----”).
Please refer to the Users Manual for the way how to initialize
the IP address.

 CHAPTER 4 Basic Setting [RSLinx]
This operation would be necessary only once.
For the following sample, the IP address of the PLC is set to 192.168.0.100

1 Connect the PC installed with RSLinx and 1756-E2NT with 8 Click [OK].

2 Open [RSLinx Classic].

3 Select [Configure Driver].

9 Select [Windows Default], and then click [OK].

4 Click [Ethernet devices], and click [Add New].

10 Right click [AB_ETH-1, Ethernet], and then select [Configure Driver].

5 Click [OK].

6 Input the IP address of the PLC (192.168.0.100) to [Station 0], 11 Input the IP address of IV (“192.168.0.103”) to [Station 1],
and then click [Add New]. and click [Add New].

7 Select [EtherNet/IP Driver], and then click [Add New]. 12 IV would be recognized like below.

Use [RS Logix 5000] and communicate cyclic with IV.

1 Open [RSLogix 5000]. 5 Register the module used for Ethernet/IP communication.
(At this sample, select [1756-EN2T] inside [Communications],
and click [OK].

2 Select [New] inside [File], and create a New Project.

6 Input the module name (“Ethernet”) inside [Name], and input the
IP address (“192.168.0.100”) inside [IP Address], and click [OK].

3 Input a project name (“IV”) inside [Name], and click [OK].

7 If necessary, do the same setting for the other units connected.

8 Register IV as an Ethernet/IP module.

4 Right click [1756 Backplane, 1756-A4], and then select [New Module]. Right click [1756-EN2T Ethernet], and select [New Module].

9 Select [ETHERNET-MODULE] inside [Communications], 11 Click [OK].

and click [OK].

12 Select [Who Active] inside [Communications].

10 Input the module name (“IV”) to [Name], and input the IP

address of IV (“192.168.0.103”) to [IP Address].
Select [Data-INT(16bit)] at [Comm Format], and input the
following numbers to [Connection Parameters].

The setting for [Connection Parameters] depends on the setting of [Comm Format].
If [SINT(8bit)] or [DINT(32bit)] is selected, refer to below.

If [SINT(8bit)] is selected.

13 Select the connected PLC unit (“00, 1756-L61 LOGIX5561,

IV_2), and click [Go Online].

If [DINT(32bit)] is selected.

* When setting [Comm Format] and [Connection Parameters] please confirm carefully
the specification of your sensor.
If this is not set properly, it might not operate correctly.

14 Click [Download]. 15 Please confirm that it is in [Run] mode.

Double click [Controller Tags], and display the [Monitor Tag].

16 You can see the result of the judgment like below.

* If the switch on ControlLogix is set to [Run], the [Download] button could not be
clicked.
Please select [REM] or [PROG].
