Learning Continuity Plan Post COVID 19 Scenario

Division of Iligan City

Rationale

In this extraordinary time of crises caused by COVID 19, schools in Iligan City
have to design and create new ways of teaching and learning. Should social
distancing still be implemented and observed, learners will continue learning with
flexible alternative delivery modes. Modified In-school Off- School Approach
( MISOSA) will enhance learning with the use of various tools and learning materials
such as work texts, activity sheets, or modules and technology. The use of commons
will be maximized.
Open High School will be modified and adopted for students in the secondary
level focusing on the essential and vital competencies of the 21 st Century with the
reinforcement of work texts, activity sheets, or modules and technology if available
and accessible at home such as telephone, mobile phone, television and reinforce
with the radio stations for urgent announcements and instructions.
Students shall apply independent and self-directed learning at home but
teachers will always clarify and simplify difficult competencies. Teachers shall closely
supervise learners’ progress by evaluating products or outputs.
The Division Office crafts a sample of a Learning Continuity Plan for schools
which will be modified or adapted to suit the school’s real situation and operations.
Guided with a memorandum, schools will craft Learning Continuity Plans which deem
efficient and effective in the delivery of learning competencies.
DepEd Iligan City ensures that continuity team leaders and members are
prepared to provide supplementary learning materials such as work texts, activity
sheets or modules and assessment materials across learning areas and Grade levels.
Teachers shall also develop their own instructional or learning materials for their
daily instruction.

Objectives

The plan has the following objectives to be able to:

1. Provide new ways of teaching and learning using various modalities.

2. Utilize various tools in the delivery of the 21st century skills
3. Apply alternative delivery mode to enhance learning continuity with the
learners despite of social distancing and Enhanced Community Quarantine.
