corrosion.

7. PACUs shall utilize R407c or R134a refrigerant.

8. The units shall be provided with lifting lugs for easy site handling.

9. All components shall be mounted on a continuous structural steel base resting on

vibration isolators. The isolators shall be proportional for the loads at all points
under the unit.

10. The Packaged Air Conditioning Units controls and starters shall be housed in a
weather proof and dust proof enclosure with lockable door. The minimum rating for
the enclosure shall be IP55.

11. Casing: Evaporator section shall be sealed with vinyl gaskets & completely
insulated faced with black glass tissue (BGT) heavy density, fire retardant,
permanent odorless fiberglass insulation of minimum 25 mm thickness & 32 kg/m3
density having maximum k factor 0.033 W / m °k. Unit casing shall be provided with
access panels for easy service & maintenance of all unit parts.

i. Drain Pan: Stainless steel with corrosion-resistant coating

ii. Corrosion-Resistant Treatment: Phenolic coating on unit interior and exterior.

12. Evaporator Fan: Galvanized-steel, double-width, double-inlet, forward-curved

centrifugal fan; statically and dynamically balanced.

a. Drive: Belt, with fan mounted on permanently lubricated bearings.

b. Fan Sheaves: Cast-iron or steel sheaves, dynamically balanced, bored to fit
shafts and keyed.
c. Motor Sheave: Variable and adjustable pitch selected so required rpm are
obtained when set at mid position.
d. Motors: Multispeed, PSC type.

13. Evaporator Coil: Direct-expansion coil with seamless copper tubes expanded into
aluminum fins.

14. Condenser Coil: Seamless Copper tubes tested at 3000 kpa in accordance to UL
1995. Epoxy-phenolic coating for corrosion protection. The coating shall be
warranted for 5 years.

15. Condenser fan: Propeller type with aluminum alloy blades and directly driven by
electric motor. The fan shall be statically & dynamically balanced.

16. Filters: ASHRAE 52.2 compliant 25-mm thick, cleanable panel pre-filters & 750 mm
deep bag filter.

17. Refrigeration System: Factory assembled and tested, and charged with R-407C
refrigerant; consisting of piping and accessories connecting compressor, evaporator oil,
and condenser coil, and including the following: Retain first subparagraph below if
required for heat-pump units only.
a. Expansion valve with replaceable thermostatic element.
b. Refrigerant dryer.
c. High-pressure switch.
d. Low-pressure switch.
e. Thermostat for coil freeze-up protection during low-ambient temperature
operation or loss of air.
f. Low-ambient switch.
g. Brass service valves installed in discharge and liquid lines.

18. Control Package: Factory wired, including contactor, high- and low-pressure
cutouts, internal-winding thermostat for compressor, control-circuit transformer, and non-
cycling reset relay.

1. Time-Delay Relay: Five-minute delay to prevent compressor cycling.

2. Adjustable Thermostat: Remote to control the following:

a. Supply fan.
b. Compressor.

3. System Selector Switch: Off- auto-cool.

4. Fan Control Switch: Auto-on.

19. System Control:

The unit shall be enabled or disabled through the control on/off switch in the
unit mounted control panel. Control is based on room temperature sensed by
room unit. Evaporator fan motor starts first. Compressors will be staged
based on the set point and actual room temperature. On an increase in room
temperature, cooling stages will be added and on a decrease in room
temperature, cooling stages will be removed from the system. The unit shall
be provided with BMS interface in order to remote monitor & control and
duty/standby unit operation control.

21. The packaged Air Conditioning Units shall be supplied with Auto changeover
panels to be operated in Duty/standby arrangement.

22. The system shall be designed and supplied with the refrigerant as specified in the
Project Documentation.

23. The power supply cables and protective devices shall be rated as recommended by
the manufacturer.

24. The Packaged Air Conditioning Units shall be selected to meet the capacities as
detailed in the Project Documentation.

25. The compressor type shall be as specified in the Project Documentation.

26. The Packaged Air Conditioning Units shall be in accordance with the latest QGEWC
regulations.

27. The manufacturer’s details should be followed wherever possible.

28. Adequate space shall be provided for operating and maintenance purpose.
