GUIDELINES ON HOW TO REGISTER AS A VOLUNTEER ON YMCA VOLUNTEERS

MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
This is a new initiative by YMCA in 2010 to manage community service programmes and
volunteers who signed up for it more effectively and efficiently. Therefore, all participants for
International Service Programmes (ISP) will have to register themselves online to complete the
registration process. Below is a step by step guide on how to register themselves for the ISP they
have signed up for.

Step1:
Go to http://vms.ymca.org.sg/vms/

Step 2:
Click on the title heading “Become a YMCA Volunteer” OR the button “Register as a New
Volunteer” which is situated on the bottom left hand corner under the section “User Login”

Step 3:
Fill in ALL the fields as indicated in the registration page. All the fields are mandatory for ISP
participants especially the passport details.
Please be reminded that participants to use names reflected on your passport. Names (eg:
Christian names) not reflected in the passports should NOT appear on the registration form. If the
wrong names are given, you may be denied boarding at the airport.

Note:
You will be issued a User ID and Password after your information have been verified. This
process should not take more than 3 working days. Please be reminded to check your email for
the User ID and Password.

Step 4:
Revisit the website: http://vms.ymca.org.sg/vms/ once more upon receiving the User ID and
Password. Key in the information given on the bottom left hand corner under the section “User
Login”

Step 5:
Click on “Calendar” which is on the top left hand corner under the section which lists your User ID
No

Step 6:
Click on the month the ISP you are participating in. For example ISP @ Cambodia (Koh Rokar) –
Hwa Chong Institution, the event date is 1 – 10 June. Search for the event under the month of
June. Then click on the ISP that you are participating in.

Step 7:
After clicking on the specific ISP, you will be directed to the first page of the Calendar which is the
month which we are currently in. Eg: If we are in the month of March, therefore the page will show
March events. Scroll down to the end of the page and you will see the events details. Check to
see that the ISP Name is your chosen programme and click on “Sign Up” button on the bottom
right hand corner.

Step 8:
After clicking the “Sign Up” button, you will receive an email notification if you are accepted into
the specific ISP. This will mark the end of the registration process. Please do notify the staff in
charge should you not receive the email notification on the confirmation of your participation
within 2 weeks of signing up.
