Post-Infection

Written by: Jay Choi

Scene opens with a busy high school hallway – it is lunch time. Camera pans over to a group of
friends and focuses on one individual: Jon Snack.

Jon: Seems like a normal high school doesn't it?

Jon gets up, walks down stairs to a door that leads outside and continues on outside. Camera is
in lead.
Jon: Would you believe me if I told you that this school was
ground zero for a serious infection that wiped out thousands of lives?
____ Virus has been recorded as the most deadly epidemic
within the North Jersey area. This is where it all began.
Welcome to Post-Infection.

TITLE SCREEN

Scene opens with Jon walking into a school laboratory room; in the room is Prof. Kang.

Jon: ___ Virus has been known for mostly one thing: reanimation of the dead.
Other than that, only little is known about the fast acting virus.
We know meet up with Professor David Kang
who will inform us more about the deathly phenomena.

By now Jon is standing with Prof. Kang, who has turned away from his work and joins Jon in
front of the camera.

Jon: Professor, what have you found in your research?

Kang: Well, so far, we have deducted that the ____ Virus is only
infectious to humans.

Jon: Ah good, zombie dogs are terrifying.

Kang: We do know they give animals super human capabilities.

Jon: Curse that Underdog.

Kang: The ___ Virus is not airborne and it is a common fact that the disease
is only spread through bite or severe scratches from the infected.
Although there have been some cases have been reported of “carriers,”
people who spread infections but show no symptoms of having any,
there has been no solid proof so far.

Jon: And just what are these symptoms?

Kang: Well . .
*Scene overlay with narration*

Scene depicts a typical zombie doing various things. Several scenes will be cut together, one
for each depiction in the narration.

Kang (Voice Only): A typical infected individual will have a less steady motorized movement.
The infected, or “zombie” as the youngsters call them, will acquire a hunger for
human flesh or animal flesh.

For these depictions, the zombie will be doing a generic zombie walk. The next depiction will
be of the zombie at a local food restaurant with a friend. The zombie will attempt to eat the friend, but
the friend nonchalantly passes him a burger. The zombie takes the burger instead.

Kang (Voice Only): And thanks to modernization of what teenage society perceive as zombies,
the infected have running capabilities.

This depiction shows a punk teenager pointing and laughing at a slow moving zombie. The
zombie then charges at the teenager.

*Back to normal camera*

Jon: I see and can you tell us about a cure-

Voice: Excuse me, what are you all doing in my class?

Camera turns and shows Mr. Verrengia and a whole class watching them. Awkward silence.

Camera cuts. New scene opens with Jon standing with Noah Ruitenberg, who stands all
arrogantly.

Jon: Despite the many devastating aftereffects on society the ____ virus had, some people
dedicated their lives to making it into some form of entertainment – a sport, if you will.
Here is the current #1 zombie fighter of the year, Noah Ruitenberg.

Noah: Howdy.

Jon: Noah, what do you think you have done

to deserve your title?

Noah: Fighting zombies is easy, but fighting

zombies in style is something only the
necro-slayingly gifted can achieve, such as myself.

Jon: Interesting, can you elaborate on that?

Noah: I've made killing zombies with virtually any item possible.
From whips to baby-carrots, all can be used to end the undead.
Go on Amazon and order my book!
Jon: Noah, do you believe you've topped the previous #1 zombie fighter of the year?

Noah: Hm, I don't know about that one.

That guy was one crazy rabbit.

*Scene overlay with narration*

Jon (Voice Only): Previous #1 Zombie Fighter of the Year title belonged to
Josh Davidson.

Scene shows Josh setting up the camera as if he were recording a home video. He then backs
away once assured the camera is set and still.

Josh: Hi, I'm Josh Davidson and this is Zombie-Tippin'.

Josh creeps up to a unsuspecting zombie who is slowly limping. Josh silently goes behind it
and starts to smirk. He shows multiple attempts to push the zombie, but keeps chuckling. The zombie
catches on and turns around. At that very moment, Josh pushes the zombie, who falls to the ground.
Josh jumps up in the air, pointing and laughing at the zombie.

Josh: HA! You just got Tipped!

Camera cuts and shows Josh who seems to be holding the camera towards himself (that is
camera view) running down a street with the same tipped zombie running after him.

Josh: Oh boy, he looks mad! (Laughs)

Camera cuts again and shows Josh holding the camera towards himself running down a street
but this time multiple zombies running after him.

Josh: I didn't know it had friends!!

*Back to normal camera*

Jon: It is truly ashamed how he went out.

Noah: Uh-huh. See, that's why I keep my zombies tamed.

Jon: What do you mean?

Noah: I've captured and trained one of them as my own pet.

Look for yourself.

Noah points towards the side and Jon looks in that direction. Camera shows a parked car with
an infected Ryan Visbeen rampaging around inside the car. The infected boy screams, howls, and
jumps around in the car.

Jon: Amazing, how did you accomplish this feat?

Noah: Well when you've got the natural talent and experience,
it all just comes to you, you know?

Jon: And you've never been bitten by it?

Noah: No, no, no, its strictly vegetarian.

Jon: Not even once?

Noah: Nope.

Jon: Then what's that on your arm?

Camera zooms out and shows that Ryan had somehow infected from the car and is biting Noah
in the arm, growling.

Noah: Dang it, Ryan! I told you to stay in the car!

Camera cuts and shows Jon with a shovel over a dirt mound. He continues to pile dirt atop the
pile as his own voice narration goes on.

Jon (Voice Only): After the sudden lost of Noah, Ryan had escaped into the wild
never to be seen again . . .
he was found two days later in a Burger King.
The local police detained him with many tasings.
They then followed up with many beatings with a nightstick.

Scene now shows Jon picking up some food from the cafeteria as the camera pans and follows
him.

Jon: After further discussion with Prof. Kang, it has been deduced
that Patient Zero of the ____ Virus was
none other than . . .
Sharon Visbeen.

Scene shows two guys talking and standing around. The caption says: DRAMATIZATION.
The guys represent Sharon and a friend. They act very sarcastically and emotionlessly.

Jon (Voice Only): The fall of Eastern Christian student body first occurred
when Sharon Visbeen came sick to school one day.

“Friend”: Oh. Sharon. You look sick.

“Sharon”: Why yes. I am sick.

“Friend”: Maybe we should get the nurse.

“Sharon”: It is too late. I am already a zombie.

“Friend”: Oh no.

“Sharon”: I will eat you. Nom nom nom.

Guy representing Sharon “eats” the friend. Both fall to the ground, out of camera sight. They
both pop back up.

“Friend”: I too am now a zombie.

“Sharon”: Let us terrorize and cause misery to the world.

“Friend”: What an excellent idea.

Guys exit. Scene comes back to Jon walking outside in the peace.

Jon: It is traumatizing that such a catastrophe all began

because one girl decided to come in sick.
She didn't even know what was coming.
How could she have known that
she would be the cause of the world's
near death experiences?

The real Sharon Visbeen pops into the picture.

Sharon: What are you talking about? I'm not dead

or a zombie.

Jon stops with expression of shock. Awkward pause. Scene then cuts to him piling more dirt
mounds with a shovel implying that he is burying Sharon.

CREDITS ROLL OVER THIS SCENE.

END.
