Sub: Complete the pending KYC details of the members

Dear Employers,

You are aware that EPFO has introduced a new non-refundable advance to members to fight
COVID-19 pandemic. This advance can be availed by filing claim in online mode. While EPFO
is committed to settle these claims on top priority, the employers are required to complete
KYC in respect of their employees, a pre-requisite for filing online claim. You must be aware
that for online claim filing the following are required:

• Activated UAN
• Aadhar should be validated against UAN (matching of name, date of birth and
gender)
• Basic details should be complete (name, father’s/spouse name, relation, date of
birth, gender)
• Bank account details uploaded by member or employer should be verified and
digitally signed by the employer.

Non-fulfilment of any of the above requirements impedes submission of claim form online.
In view of the same, you are requested to update the KYCs of the members. For the sake of
your convenience the requirements/process is reiterated below :

1. In case the member does not know his UAN: Employers are requested to
disseminate the UAN to their members if not done earlier.
2. In case the UAN is not activated: If member has not created his login, he can do
same using the member ID (UAN). Member will be required to submit his name and
date of birth to activate the login. He should have a mobile number, which will be
authenticated through OTP on the mobile.
3. In case the basic details are missing: The employer can update it from his login.
4. In case the name or date of birth or gender against the UAN data is not matching
with the same in Aadhaar: Member having UAN based login can provide his
Aadhaar and apply for correction in the basic details. The task will be pushed to
employer who has to forward it to EPFO after digital verification.
In case there is a gap of more than one year in date of birth, the proof of date of
birth has to be uploaded by the member.
In case there is a mismatch in the name and date of birth and gender and member is
not able to create login, the correction in the basic details with seeding of Aadhaar
can be done through an offline joint request only.
5. Uploading bank account details: The bank account of member can be directly
uploaded by the employer after verifying the same. The data has to be digitally
signed by the employer. At the time of claim filing, member needs to enter the bank
account to confirm that it is his bank account. Thus, the employer who are paying
the wages through bank account and are aware of the bank details may update the
same to help the member. Alternatively, the member can also upload his bank
details from his login and the employer in turn can verify the same.

In order to ensure that members are able to avail advance to fight COVID-19 pandemic, all
employers are requested to:

• Disseminate the UAN to their members if not done earlier and help them in linking
their Aadhaar and bank details.
• Help them in activating their UAN based login.
• Clear all the pending KYC updating and basic details change tasks in their login.

To mitigate hardship faced by members in these trying times, please accord it TOP PRIORITY.

Thanking You.
