Terms of Office
The Taskforce shall remain in office for a period of four (4)
months from 2nd May, 2017 or for such a longer period as the Cabinet
Secretary may by notice in the Gazette prescribe.
Co-option
The Taskforce may co-opt any other member(s) whose skills and
experience are necessary for the performance of its functions.

INTENDED DESTRUCTION OF COURT RECORDS
IN ACCORDANCE with the Records Disposal (Courts) Rules,
notice is given that three (3) months after the date of publication of
this notice, the Senior Principal Magistrate's Court at Kangema,
intends to apply to the Chief Justice, for leave to destroy the records,
books and papers of the Senior Principal Magistrate's Court at
Kangema as set out below:

Traffic cases 2006-2012
A comprehensive list of all condemned records that qualify to be
disposed under the Act can be obtained and perused at the Senior

received an Environmental Impact Assessment Study Report for the
above proposed project.
The proponent, Hearan Enterprise Limited, is proposing to put up a
hotel that will offer hospitality and recreational facility to the area
residents. Upon completion, the hotel shall comprise of 15 floors
inclusive of the ground floor. In summary, the development shall
consist of: 180 suites with guest service areas and risers; lobby; all day
dining/dining terrace, washrooms; 2 kitchens; staff kitchen and
restaurant; club lounge; 3 meals restaurant; bar; 25m pool;
gymnasium; ballroom; business center, offices; meeting and events
room. The project will occupy on a 0.882 acres of land.
The following are the anticipated impacts and proposed mitigation
measures:

residential basically multi-family and town houses of 2. 3. and 4
bedroom (402 two bedroom, 1,294 three bedroom, 1019 four

infrastructure including electrical substation and associated amenities.

The proponent, Four Forty Utawala Development Limited, is
proposing to construct a Residential Apartments Scheme- 440 on L.R.
No. 6845/167 at Utawala in Nairobi City County. The project shall be
developed on nine acre piece of land in Utawala. The project shall
consist of twenty two (22) blocks of apartments; each will have 5
floors and 20 units of houses within the apartment and 42 parking
spaces between two apartments. There will be a total of 160 two
bedroom units and 280 three bedroom units. The project shall also
include commercial centre with 24 shop.s at the main entrance;
recreational facilities which will include swimming pool with
changing rooms and other facilities; a basketball court and green space
to provide multipurpose recreational space.

• Combine noisy operations so that they
occur at the same time. The total noise
level will not be significantly louder
than the level produced if the operations
were to be undertaken separately.
• Noisy operations will be carried out
strictly during the day time.
Switch off engines when not in use
• Access roads should be cut that are
exclusively used for the transportation
of workers, goods and materials. These
roads should be sited in such a way that
the noise from this movement affects as
few of the existing residents as possible.
• Where possible silenced machinery and
instruments should be employed to
reduce the impact of noise on the
existing residents and workers.
• Machinery, vehicles and instruments
that emit high levels of noise should be
used on a phased basis to reduce the
overall impact.
• These pieces of equipment such as
drills, graders and cement mixers should
also be used when the least number of
residents can be expected to be affected,
for example during periods where most
residents are at work or school.
• Temporary barriers such as earth berms,
zinc fencing and sound dampening
fencing such as acoustic screens should
be employed to reduce the impact of
noise to the existing residents.
• Ensure that construction activities for
the development of the project are
staggered to decrease the levels of noise
and vibration in the area.
• Construction hours should be limited to
the hours of 8.00 am. and 6.00 p.m.
Damage of underground Get maps of the underground

• Inspection of workers to ensure they are
using the PPE at all times when
necessary.

PAPs in full prior to beginning of

PURSUANT to regulation 21 of the Environmental Management
and Co-ordination (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations. 2003,
the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has
received an Environmental Impact Assessment Study Report for the
above proposed project.
The proponent, Rock Works Energy Limited, is proposing to start a
quarrying and put up a crusher at his land blocks whose specifics are
organized in blocks whose titles deeds are:
• Daiga/Umande Block 8/309(Gitugi) 1.3155 Ha.
• DaigalUmande Block8/308(Gitugi) 1.4681 Ha.
• Daiga/Umande Block8/307(Gitugi) 1.1723 Ha.
• DaigalUmande Block 8/306(Gitugi) 1.0941 Ha.
The project is in Umande area of Laikipia County. It is on a 5.05
Ha. piece of land. Currently the land is bare save for a planned site
office block in the area. The neighboring land is mostly under
developed with part of it used for small scale farming and grazing. In
the wider project neighborhood are the Home Grown Horticultural
Farm and Depot and Kongoni Flower farms.
The following are the anticipated impacts and proposed mitigation
measures:
