What are my strengths and
abilities as a teacher?
My strengths and abilities as a
teacher are my willingness to
take risks when it comes to new
ways of teaching and trying new
things in the classroom, my
ability to take constructive
criticism and self-improve, and
adapting to the needs of the
learners. The ability to adapt to
the needs of the students and
taking risks when it comes to new
activities, I think, can go hand in
hand. My background in special
ed. and working with
accommodations helps me
realize the strengths and
weaknesses of my learners and
allows me to think of new ways to
teach or new activities that could
benefit learners. That leads into
my ability to take the feedback
from the learners and other
professionals and revise my
teaching.

What are areas in which I
would like to improve my
teaching craft?
I want to improve my knowledge
of the different ways of teaching
different subjects. I also want to
learn more about technology
when it comes to teaching
because children nowadays are
very technology savvy and I think
could reach more children. I want
to improve my assessment skills
and being able to branch out and
try new ways to assess learning. I
would have liked to work more on
my teacher presence in the
classroom and being more
assertive instead feeling more
like an assistant.
In terms of teaching, what
are my personal goals and
aspirations?
My personal goals and
aspirations, in terms of teaching,
are to be resourceful teacher. I
want to have knowledge about
many ways of teaching, types of
lessons, assessments so that I
can meet the needs of all my
future students when it comes to
their diverse ways of learning. I
want to be open to always
learning more and working on my
own abilities so that I can make
learning fun and impactful.
Given my areas of strength,
areas in which I want to
improve, and my teaching
aspirations, what are my
most important short-term
goals?
My short-term goals are to work
on assessments, learning more
ways to incorporate technology
into the classroom, and more
teaching strategies to use in
lessons and the classroom. I want
to learn more types of
assessments and how to
differentiate assessments to
meet the needs of students.
Technology is taking over the
world and children are becoming
more and more technology
savvy, so I want to learn more
ways to incorporate technology
into the classroom and into my
lessons. I feel like sometimes my
lessons can be a tad ordinary and
I want to discover new strategies
and more things that could spice
up my lessons.
