4 Configuration
The module is preset in SDMO factory.
The configuration makes it possible, to make sure that the module is compatible within an
installation to provide the function of Ethernet ring redundancy or optical fiber ring
redundancy for the APM802.
In particular with regard to :
• The management of the module which is responsible for the logical cicatrization
of the ring in the event of first defect of rupture of the communication on a
segment.
• Real time management of the data exchanged between APM802 systems.
• The separation of the data inter-APM802 and other data.
• The management of QoS quality of service according to the exchanged data.
• The management of the priorities according to the exchanged data.
• The maximum baud rate management according to the exchanged data.
• The replacement of a module by an identical module without configuration by
user.
By default the position of the switches of the module should not be modified, the 4 switches
being on OFF.

Caution : the configuration of the module should not be modified without SDMO
written agreement.

5 Connection
5.1 Typical diagram of connection
IMPORTANT : Variations may exist; refer to the electric diagram of your installation.

Notes :
Port 4 and 5 can be either of Ethernet or Fiber-Optic depending on the redundancy module
type.
Connection on port 2 of the redundant module can be either direct or through a standard
switch allowing connections to multiple devices.
The equipment connected on port 2 of the redundant module can be :
- Remote HMI modules
- One or more supervisions, for example in TCP Modbus
- The laptop of a service technician
- A printer for printing in real time the events
- A modem / router / firewall for more connectivity
