Notes on reviews and reactions

To begin with the review and reactions, they are based off of the one-act play by Mark Harvey
Levine, “Surprise!”. My fellow students talked about the play, left some remarks, commentaries
and suggestions. Firstly, they pictured the details of the set for us to understand, and they did a
remarkably good job in doing so. For example, they clearly stated the intricate details of how the
table was set, the colors, props and costumes. Another way in which they discussed the
reasons of the actors' movements and how they are connected to what they're feeling. Then
they also wrote in their analysis, based on their understanding and on the material the reasons
why the producers chose the set of lights, the background, the background noise and etc.
Though they have differences due to their perception, this widened my perspective on the play.

My fellow classmates utilized their knowledge on vocabulary very well. They used the right
words to pour out their thoughts on the play and for us to understand their points. I have
learned, as an amateur in writing reviews, is that you have to state your point clearly and
straight-forward. I also took account that if your review was written properly, those who’d read
would be able to picture what had happened without watching the play. Due to their intellectual
suggestions and commentaries, I’ve learned something new that I can apply in writing (in
general). In addition to that, they also helped me realize to become more expressive of my
thoughts from every necessary detail possible.

Moreover, though speaking as an amateur writer myself, my fellow students could improve on
their grammar skills as well as their use of their wide vocabulary knowledge. They can improve
on their grammar skills by writing more with assistance. If not with the teacher, online websites
could help, like Grammar.ly. Based on my own opinion, use of words should be a little shallow
but descriptive enough for readers to understand without constantly looking for its' meaning
(though this barely happened for the reviews). Going on Pinterest for posts regarding use of
words is helpful. They could also use Google for a less complicated process for resource/s.
Though both applications or websites could help with expanding or taking good use of
vocabulary. Additionally, they should also be aware of using the correction punctuation marks of
when to use them, mostly. This could be enhanced by searching in Google (again) when
punctuation marks are used, why and for what.

To sum up everything that has been stated, the overall written review and following reactions
should be done more often. This way, everyone could help each other in understanding the
material. Students can interact in words in a way that they don’t face to face much often.
Reading different peoples' reviews and reactions can be used to compare / contrast answers for
apprehension. Thus, the conclusion is that my fellow intellectuals delivered their points with
passion and with an open-mind.
