Reflection of Website

In regards to my website on Water scarcity, I’ve realized this is a global catastrophe that needs to

be fixed. Many people don’t realize that 40 percent of people are suffering from this. That’s

almost 50 percent which is almost half of the whole population of the entire World. This took a

lot of work and evaluation to look at different aspects of how bad a water shortage is in our

world. The continent that has suffered the most in Africa and no change’s occurring or even

helping because of the cause of this. The government and the leaders that run the countries in

Africa just want to put this issue under a rug. While researching for this project I wanted keen

information so that’s what I looked for. While looking more into water scarcity I wanted to

mainly base my information Africa and part of the USA. The main reason for Africa was

because there are so many countries on that continent that are facing a lack of water. So I put

more of a focus on Africa than any other place because those people that live there need all the

help they need and the government doesn’t want to help. One place that I did put my focus on

was Cape Town which is one of the cities in Africa that has no water at all. It used to be a huge

tourist attraction and now it’s not because no money is being made there and most of the people

that live there have the same situation they have to deal with. First, it started with there was no

water to flush the toilets and they were all backed up. Then people had to take 1-minute showers

because there was only such a certain amount of water that could be used. Though many people
started to struggle with this as they couldn’t even wash there own laundry. Now, imagine that not

even have water for sanitary reasons or even drink. Capetown has been out of water for quite a

while now and since no rain comes by the situation with this keeps getting worse. Now the way I

set up this whole thing for my essay to my website was putting it in the piece by piece.

Though, I started on what Water Scarcity is and how it’s a horrible thing that’s affecting over a

billion people. Everyone can do their little part in fixing this global crisis issue and put a hand in

to help those people that require water. Now with an Essay and website they’re two different

things. My essay was a platform so I can regain my information into my website for it to look

presentable. To start with everything one thing would be how I was going to lay out all of my

tabs in the order I tried to do it for my essay. Also putting more pictures into my website to make

it pop more and make it look much better. I went forward into an intro to what water scarcity is.

Furthermore, going into the history of water scarcity and how it starts and how some cities have

the worst climate because of it and that’s why the effect is so strong. For one thing, the fact of

dryness and lack of rain causes this but also people are the problem because of the fact of how

much water human wastes every day it’s mind-blowing. Those long showers that people take can

fill up water for a whole city. Water is a privilege and people shouldn’t take advantage of it. On

my essay, I talk about all the organization that helps those in Africa who fund those places for

people who don’t have any access and being able to donate for people to have water. It’s a

necessity that everyone needs. As I wrote my essay I looked at my main points and then talked

about the issues that people would be facing and how hard it’s to come back to that. In an essay,

it can be pretty dull and on a website, you’re catching the attention of an audience with pictures

and other information that can be useful. Then by adding some color into my website, it looks

more appealing to the eye because there’s so much writing you can only put into a website.
People have a short attention span and reading sentences over and over they would just get

bored. For my website, I wanted to add more interesting things and put pictures that can say

1,000 words.

To also go forward and say this topic means a lot to me because it opened up my eyes and shows

how grateful I should be to have access to water at any time and understand that for others they’d

wish they can have the same type of privilege. One thing I also want to state on the wording from

my essay to my website. Yes, I want to use good vocabulary but nothing too harsh where

someone can’t understand. I wanted to make my website and make it understandable to a 4th

grader and make it useful and give more details on how you can help. Now going into the media

part of my website the media likes to retain information and make it sound worse to scare people

because that’s what they are best noted for. I wanted to look more into what organizations fund

these projects and organizations to fund these countries.

In addition to putting everything from my essay to my website, it wouldn’t be the same as it

would be boring to the eye. So I changed it up and started to add graphs and charts that show

rates of the water supply and how it changes through the spam of years. Water Scarcity is just

going to keep getting worse and worse if no change occurs. This was a new challenging concept

of turning an essay into a website and it was new. In conclusion, water scarcity is going to

always be in my head and people should start looking at it as an issue that can’t just be fixed with

one thing. My platform for my website shows places you can donate to and which areas of Africa

need the most help. This is where I leave off of don’t let the world become a dry spell.
