Abstract: Strategies in Resolving Conflict in an Organization

Every organization is frequently experiencing conflict in any kind of situation in


the management, we cannot deny that this kind of problem truly exists and cannot be
avoided. Conflict is a serious disagreement, mainly it is the effect of being incompatible
between two persons or groups by the means of different opinions, interests, values,
and perceptions in a workplace. Conflict is very crucial in the companies that it needs an
effective strategy to address it immediately. As productivity and efficiency, conflict is
also a variable in organizational behavior as conflict can’t be tamed, it becomes
destructive when these limits are exceeded.

In the organization, addressing issues might be difficult to find a solution but it is


feasible to resolve in an appropriate way. The purpose of this study is to explore and to
scrutinize by using different effective strategies concerning how to manage conflict in
the organization or institutions. One of the companies that also experiencing this kind of
conflict is the Patriot Software Company.

This company operates by their designs and developing online accounting


software for small businesses which was handling a huge number of employees that
has over three hundred plus all over the United States of America. This kind of fast-
growing company offers a tool to help in addressing conflict to have a smooth kind of
operations in the company. When conflict arises within the company, they faced the
conflict by giving immediate action by providing attention to the issue to resolve before it
causes a worse situation inside the company.
If this conflict arises between two or more, by the use of good communication it
can address the conflict to fix the misunderstanding and even if one person only has a
conflict it is also good to give a private talk to address the concern. It is usually
manifested in collusion, struggle, friction between individuals or groups, etc. We
experience this in organizations or institutes. As productivity and efficiency, conflict is
also a variable in organizational behavior. Since conflict can’t be tamed, it becomes
destructive when these limits are exceeded.

By seeking first to understand someone’s point of view, it is also great to give an


essential time to listen to the person and then understood after by the chance of asking
questions and clarifications.

Good leaders must know how to address the conflict in the difficult times as by
using the different strategies and understanding the situation as soon as possible can
resolve a conflict.
