Black Hawk Down (Black Hawk shot down in Spain, The Fall of
the Black Hawk in Spanish America) is a 2001 US war film
winner of two Oscars for best sound and best editing, out of a
total of four nominations. It was directed by Ridley Scott and
written by Ken Nolan. The argument is based on Mark Bowden's
book of the same name that narrates the real event that took
place during a United States peacekeeping mission, with a
mandate from the UN, in Somalia in 1993.
