Reflection:
I taught grade five general students and the topic of the lesson was about the online forum. My
learning objectives were first, to recognize and write online forum. Second, to read and identify
specific information in simple texts. I started the lesson by presenting a picture of an online
forum and asked students questions to introduce the topic of the lesson. Then, I explained the
meaning of the online forum and allowed the students to read the text (online forum) provided
in their book to answer the questions that were related to it. At the end of the lesson, I asked the
students to work as groups to write an online forum. Hence, I believe that I achieved my
learning objectives because the majority of the groups were able to write interesting online
forum discussing the importance of the sports.

My strengths were first using the picture to present the topic of the lesson. Using visual aids is
an effective strategy that teacher could apply to engage their students who have grown in a
technology-rich environment (Hall, 2013). Second, placing my learning objectives on the board
and explaining them to the students to five them an idea about the lesson. Third, implementing
the black board reinforcement strategy to manage students during the lesson. Students needed to
behave politely, so they do not receive a red point in their black board and be rewarded by the
end of the week.

However, some areas needed to be improved. I did not prepare and individual summative
assessment in which I check all if the students comprehension of the lesson content. Moreover, I
did not divide the roles on the students while working as groups to ensure that all of them were
participating and working. Therefore, in my future lessons, I will prepare an individual
summative assessment to make sure that all students understood the lesson. Furthermore, I
ensure giving each student a role to do while working as group.
