1.1 Intro
oductio
on
The SDR-based
S s
serial produ
ucts aim to design a unified
u netwo
ork which can
c bring
seamle
ess experien
nce to opera
ators. In GS
SM, UMTS, LTE or mixxed mode, itt enables
operattors to save
e CAPEX an
nd OPEX significantly for
f they onlly need to deploy a
Uni-Ra
adio Access Network (RA
AN), compared with the costs involvved with inde
ependent
GSM and
a UMTS networks.
To com
mply with the further req
quirements for
f lower po
ower consum
mption, smalller space
occupa
ation and hig
gher perform
mance of prod
ducts from op
perators, ZTE released the magic
series of RRUs, the new generration of SDR
R RRUs. Thrree types of RRUs, 1T2R
R ZXSDR
R8861, 2T2R ZXSDR R8862 and
a 3T6R ZX
XSDR R8863
3 are included
d in the serie
es. In this
ment, R8861 is introduced
docum d.
The ZX
XSDR R8861 is the latesst ZTE outdoor remote RF
F unit (RRU)) with one tra
ansmitter.
It supp
ports GSM and
a UMTS communicati
c ion systems and feature
es portable structure,
s
high output power and easy in
nstallation. Based
B on ZT
TE new gene
eration RRU platform,
n single GSM or UMTS mode, or dual-mode att the same frequency
R8861 can work in
band.
1.2 Ben
nefits
R
R8861, the sm
mallest 1T2R
R RRU of 80W wer in industtry, is less than 10L in
W output pow
v
volume and only
o 12 kg in
n weight. Th
he light and compact de
esign enables
s it to be
e
easily carried
d and installe
ed. The load

or the tower or wall is
lo
ower than oth
her equipme
ents.
z G
Green RRU with
w lower po
ower consum
mption
R
R8861’s nd design of structure an
imprrovement in materials an nd modules, results in
h
higher PA effficiency and lower powe
er consumptiion than R88
881. The remarkable
d
decrease in power conssumption efffectively red
duces the expenditure of
o power
supply equipm
ment such ass battery, and
d electric cha
arges.
z F
Faster deployyment
C
Compared w
with last generation prod
duct of R888
81, R8861 iis more eas
sily to be
in
nstalled and commission
ned. With on
nly half of th
he volume, R8861 is lig
ghter and
c
convenient to
o be manage
ed. There are
e fewer interffaces in R8861 without lo
oss in the
fu
unctions. With unified mounting
m kitts, the entire
e installation
n process of
o R8861
re
equires less than five minutes. All these improve
ements lead to fast deplo
oyment of
th
he equipmen
