SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MAPEH 8 (HEALTH)

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

a. explain pregnancy-related concerns and prenatal care;

b. express the importance of being knowledgeable in pregnancy-related and prenatal care; and

c. dramatize through a role play how pregnant woman’s situation and responsibilities before
and after giving birth

III. Procedure

A. Preliminary Activities:

B. Motivation:

- Picture analysis (Pregnant woman)

- Ask the learners about Activity 26: Reflections on Pregnancy

C. Presentation of the lesson:

- Pregnancy is the time when a new cell is formed during fertilization, grows, and
develops into a baby in the women’s uterus. (video clip)

IV. Lesson Proper

- Phases of pregnancy

- How to take care, mother and father’s role during and after pregnancy

- Nutritional guide pyramid

- Stages of labor and birth

- Newborn screening

- Breastfeeding
V. Evaluation

Role play that shows a pregnant woman’s situation and responsibilities before and after
giving birth.
