Substitution of Natural Gas by Waste Heat using the new Heat Recovery Steam Genera- EE9
tor (HRSG) of Sudamericana de Fibras S.A. – Peru
Description: It consist on the recovery of waste heat generated by a thermal power plant operated by SdF Energía S.A.C. (SdF Energía) and the gene-
ration of electric power and heat by Sudamericana de Fibras S.A. (SdF) for their dry-spun acrylic fiber plant. This process will have a power generation
potential of 3.07 MW with an estimated power generation of 24,647 MWh / year.

Current Status: Projects Benefits:

Earliest project start date: April 2007.
Operation start date: November 2009.
Project lifetime: 25 years.
Current Status: SdF submitted the documentation to obtain the Letter
of Approval from the Environmental Ministry (MINAM-DNA) on March
2009. PDD in validation by the executive board
Estimated Annual Emission Reductions (tCO2/year):
An average of 53,859 tCO2-equivalent per year.
Sustainable development contribution: Creating both directly and
indirectly jobs, businesses and local services.
Reducing the dependence of industry facilities on fossil fuels.
Reducing the effects of thermal pollution by using SdF Energía waste
heat.
CER´s negotiation:
Sell Commitment.
