TOPIC : Fascinating Sabah and Sarawak


TITLE : Local Dishes
TARGET : All Year 5 pupils
PERIOD : 08th - 15th May 2020 (1 week)

PHASE STEPS
1. Pupils read and comprehend the project briefings given by their English
language teachers.
2. Pupils receive a To-Do checklist of project outlines from teachers.
3. Pupils are allowed to search for examples of cooking tutorials (printed,
digital slideshow or video) from various sources.

project friends)
4. Pupils must choose one LOCAL DISH that they can prepare.
5. The whole project needs to be supervised by adults (pupils’ parents or
guardian).

6. Pupils prepare an outline of the recipe (listing ingredients, tools and


planning cooking steps).
7. If pupils choose to record a video, pupils must prepare a narrative script
(introduction, process and ending). Pupils may choose to:
 speak live during the cooking process; or
 write captions in the video; or
2  add narrations later during video-editing process.
8. If pupils choose to do a recipe book or slideshow, pupils must write a full
(11 - 14 May 2020)
recipe, step-by-step with images.
Developing the  Texts design and image placement is according to pupils’ creativity.
Project  Fonts used should be legible and clear.
9. The video / photographs can be taken by their family members.
10. With adults’ supervision, pupils prepare the dish.
11. Teachers guide pupils through long-distance interaction to check pupils’
project progress.
12. Two weeks are given to finish the project including the editing process.

13. Pupils submit their finished project to their teachers online (through
3 Whatsapp or other messaging platforms).
14. Pupils are advised to keep their documentation for in-person submission
(15 May 2020) (recipe books only).
Ending the
Project
15. The finished projects will be combined in one e-file or folder.
4 16. An online showcase will be done by teachers through a social media
platform (subject to teacher’s preference).
Project 17. Scores will be given based on the project rubrics.
18. Pupils may be given rewards.
