Letter to the editor

Dear editor,

I am writing in response to the article about UNESCO’s missions to build peace that appeared in
your latest magazine.
UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. It seeks to build
peace through international cooperation in Education, the Sciences and Culture. UNESCO's programs
contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals defined in Agenda 2030, adopted
by the UN General Assembly in 2015.
In my opinion, UNESCO develops educational tools to help people live as global citizens free of
hate and intolerance. UNESCO works so that each child and citizen has access to quality education. By
promoting cultural heritage and the equal dignity of all cultures.
Furthermore, UNESCO strengthens bonds among nations, fosters scientific programmes and
policies as platforms for development and cooperation. Also, it stands up for freedom of expression, as a
fundamental right and a key condition for democracy and development. Serving as a laboratory of ideas,
UNESCO helps countries adopt international standards and manages programmes that foster the free
flow of ideas and knowledge sharing.
In addition, has a unique role to play in strengthening the foundations of lasting peace and
equitable and sustainable development.
In conclusion, UNESCO’s missions across domains like education, sciences, culture,
communication and information holds strategic stakes at a time when societies across the world face
the rising pressures of change and the international community faces new challenges.

All in all a good essay, but please use your own words and ideas next time... That
is the point of this practice, not to take something from the internet and compile it
into an essay...
