To ensure the smoothest start possible to the F4 Design software training, it is necessary to install the F4
Design software onto an appropriate computer before you start your training.

The minimum computer requirements can be found in the system requirements table (Fig. 1)

In order to ensure that F4Design is fully usable and the installation can be carried
IMPORTANT! out without errors, the software must be executed as a user account with
administrative rights. This applies both, during the installation and during the use of
the software.

A continuous internet connection is required to install the software.

2 Installation of the F4 Launcher

The F4 Launcher is used to install F4 Design and later update the software and license management.

 Run the setup to install the F4 Design Launcher and confirm with "Install" (Fig. 2). The launcher will
begin downloading, this will take a couple of minutes.

Before installation check that the time and date of Windows has been set correctly (Fig. 3).

3 F4 Design Installation
Once installation of the Launcher is complete, F4 Design can be installed using the Launcher.

1. Open the Launcher, then click on Settings.

Next select your language and the matching OEM Version.

If your required language is german, english, italian or french, please choose

the matching CAD+T OEM version.

For all other languages, please choose the english CAD+T OEM version.

2. Then select "Install" (Fig. 4). Read the license agreement carefully and confirm with "Accept"

3. Select "Local installation".

Options:

Local installation, select this option if you want to install F4 design locally on a computer without directories
on network drives / Network Share.

Network Client installation, select this option if you want to install F4 Design on a local computer, but with
some F4 program components accessed on a Network Share.
NOTE: Only possible if parts of the program have already been installed on Network Share.

Network Server Installation, select this option for the server from which the client's computer can access
Network Share.

Installation using Install.ini, carries out an installation corresponding to the given "INI file".

4. Select "ONLINE Installation" to download the most up-to-date files.

Options:

ONLINE Installation, all programs and information are downloaded and installed via the internet from an F4
server. This ensures that the most up-to-date files are available.

MEDIUM Installation, program parts are installed using a medium (such as a DVD or USB) and can then be
updated online to bring them up-to-date.

5. Confirm once more your F4 Design variant (F4 Design, Gold or Platinum) and the desired language. Continue
with "Next" (Fig. 8).

6. In the next dialogue box the following settings have to be selected:

Online update settings

Update CADT+T Release Server
Version 160010 or newer

Installation paths
As default, the software is installed to path C:\F4. If you have an SSD (solid-state drive), it makes sense to set
the path of the directories to the SSD hard drive. This allows quick access to these files.

Install catalogs

Choose to install all catalogs.

7. Click on "Install" to begin the installation (Fig. 8).

When the installation is finished all componends have to be checked (Fig. 9).

4 Preparation

!Attention!
This part is not a repuirement for the installation.

If there is no stable internet connection or the computer is not connected, it is possible to download a
preparation version.

The preparation version includes all of the information required for installation and can be distributed over
the network or via a USB stick. With the preparation version, it is only necessary to download the
information once.

Once the launcher has been installed then it is possible to select the preparation version (Fig. 10) and will
be selected later using the MEDIUM installation.

 Using the preparation version link the location of the files can be specified.

Depending on operating system, choose either the 32bit or 64bit to save download volume.

5 Licensing

Before F4 design can be used, the software must be licensed. The license can be activated in the launcher
under the "Licensing" menu.

After purchasing the software, your account access will be sent to you by mail, so you can log in to your
F4Design account (Fig. 11)

In the Launcher, click on "Licensing" and log in with your account ID and (during the initial registration) with
the order number indicated.

When you first log in, you will be prompted to enter additional personal data, and the entered mail address
will then become the email reference for your account access data.

After successful registration, your licenses are shown under "License account settings".

To activate your license, click on the blue lock in the Actions field.

To use F4 Design, you need a constant Internet connection. The license is available in offline mode for 21
days. After expiry of this period, the license will be dormant until the next application.

You can reactivate your license by clicking on the double arrow next to the lock in your license.

Due to the terms and conditions of AutoDesk, the software may only be installed on
IMPORTANT! computers belonging to the purchaser of the license. It is not allowed to install the
software on a private computer or external system.
