Top 10 Electrical Safety to follow at Workplace

01. Avoid Overloading
Overloading cause majority fire incident. Use of 3-
way or 4-way plug lead to overloading. Avoid plug-
in more devices use adaptors, or extension cords.

02. Faulty Equipment

Check all the cable in good conditions, no
cuts. Lamp not flickering, power plugs and
socket in good physical condition. Perform
LOTO when repair equipment’s.
03. Power line
Stay 10 feet away, especially trucks, shovel and
crane. De-energize if need to work near them. For
APM staff shall contact “TNB”, for support.

04. Secure Electrical Panel

Electrical panel shall secure and close to avoid
any unauthorize access. Also, to protect he
circuit breaker from damages.

05. Label Panel

All the electrical panel \ distribution panel
shall properly label. This to ensure during
emergency easy access and cut off power
immediately. All circuit-breaker should label.
06. Have Ground Fault
All electrical equipment shall test for ground
fault to avoid shock. Use double insulated
tools and equipment. Required to divert fault
current to ground.
07. Safe Extension Cord
Use SIRIM tested cords, 3-wire type,
have strain relief, remove plug from
power socket does not use the cord, and
audit cord frequently.

08. Keep away from Water

Electrocution is a risk when an electrical
device gets wet. Do not touch electrical plug
\socket with wet hand. Keep device away
from water.

09. Call electrician, for any repair. 10. Turn off Power, when device not in use.
Fail to turn off device at office lead to fire incidents.
