POSTER MAKING CONTEST

CONTEST GUIDELINES:

1. The contest is considered “OPEN CATEGORY “. It is open to all students and teachers in
the Elementary, Junior High School and Senior High School who will be making the
official entry of their respective schools. The team making the entry can be comprised
of a mix of teachers and students, a group of students, a group of teachers. The
maximum number of individuals making the team is Three. The entry can be also
executed by a single individual and can be a teacher or a student.
2. The poster must illustrate, interpret and dwell on the theme about “Anti-Violence
Against Women and Their Children”.
3. The following materials will be used in the poster making contest:
A. ½ Illustration Board ( Horizontal Format or Portrait Format )
B. Pencil, Pentel Pens, Markers, Oil Pastels, Craypas, Crayons, Signpens, and Acrylic
Paints can all be used. Mixed Media of the aforementioned Art Materials are
accepted.
 Use of other mediums not specified above is strictly prohibited and can be held
as grounds for disqualification.
4. Entries can be made in their respective schools and will be submitted on March 10,
2020 during the G.A.D. Division Congress.
5. The poster will be judged according to the following criteria:
A. Relevance to the Theme – 30%
The poster shows and depicts the main essence of the theme. It must bring across
the message being imparted through its visual imagery that upon a glance, you can
easily grasp its intended meaning and message
B. Originality – 40%
The poster shows Uniqueness, Original Style and Exclusive Execution. It is not
patterned to any known posters or artworks and has no similarities in terms of lay
out, style, and execution with the other entries.
C. Creativity – 30%
The poster must show artistic expression and must be visually appealing. It must
observe the basic principles of Art and Design such as Color Combination,
Perspective, Line, Shape, Composition, Balance, etc.
6. All submitted entries will become properties of the Dep-Ed La Union Division Office
and can later be used for promotional and instructional purposes without the consent
of the makers of the posters
7. The Top Winner of the said Poster Making Contest will be included as one of the
official Information Education Communication Materials for Anti VAW-C in Region I.
