E05 Poetry Reflection

Up until now, poetry was one of the easier units that we did as a class this year. This is due to the

fact that poetry doesn’t include a lot of writing, but instead a lot of thinking on which words

rhyme, the amount of syllables per line, etc. For me, my poems required multiple rewrites,

making sure my rhyme and iambic pentameter were on point. I found I did a good job with

finding fitting words for the poem and rhyme to make it flow better and be more fluent.

Although the length of my poems were fine, next time I could go beyond just the minimum

amount that we needed. This way, my topic could be more detailed and interesting. Also, next

time I do poetry, I’ll try to get iambic pentameter right the first time.
