Read through mentor handbook in preparation for the call on Friday

Friday 12/6
Was prepared for the call but something came up for Mr. McAninch. Rescheduled call for
Tuesday at 3:30

Saturday 12/7 - Sunday 12/8

Finalized display board and video prop for Winter Showcase. Also reviewed research
portfolio to ensure its perfection for Winter Showcase.

Monday 12/9
Prepared for potential Winter Showcase questions

Tuesday 12/10
Had a phone call with Mr. McAninch, where we reviewed mentor handbook. Also
reviewed details for Winter Showcase, including where I would be located to ensure we could
find one another easily.

Wednesday 12/11
Attended Winter Showcase, where I performed slightly better than my expectations.
Overall, enjoyed the event a lot more than I thought I would.
Thursday 12/12
Accumulated my thoughts regarding the Winter Showcase in the Winter Showcase
reflection document.

Friday 12/13
Utilized the inclass work day to update digital portfolio in preparation for adding mentor
information.

Saturday 12/14 - Sunday 12/15

Attended the Business Professionals of America competition, where I was able to
present myself professionally to panel of network engineers.

Upcoming Goals
Attend first meeting with Mr. McAninch, where I hope to discuss specific details of my original
work. Also need to update digital portfolio with mentor information.

Reflection
These past two weeks were fairly productive. Winter Showcase proved to be an exciting,
insightful event, easily surpassing my expectations. At this event, I was able to present myself
well and even answer curveball questions from various professionals. Additionally, I was able to
incorporate my board and video prop extremely well with my presentation. Lastly, I was able to
address concerns with my original work, proving its feasibility. Looking towards the next weeks, I
am looking forward to going on my first official mentor meeting. Moreover, I am hoping to begin
getting work done a little earlier because of BPA competition finishing this weekend. Overall, I
am satisfied with my continual progress despite having BPA competition, and look forward to
continuing that progression.
