METHOD STUDY AND INTERNET TOOL: INCREASED THE PRODUCTIVITY OF

THE BANK

Project Background

The microfinance of card SME Bank are one of the fastest and steady growing

thrift banks in the country, particularly in the CALABARZON region. Complemented by

highly competent, skilled and experienced personnel with unparalleled commitment and

dedication, Card SME Bank, Inc. fulfil its part in nation building by providing Micro,

Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) much needed support to sustain their

businesses which will ultimately improve the economic landscape of our trading areas.

But microfinance of Card SME Bank are in old time way of processing the loan unlike

other bank they more updated and they are using internet do the process and approval

of loan to make it very easy. Our company are using more papers of processing a loan

rather than using an internet so that I am raising this project because internet will help

us to make our work easy and it will cut cost. Instead of photocopying more paper why

not spending technological processing so that we can easily communicate and pass the

paper to the head office for approval if we are using modern way.

Using internet at work is often associated with procrastination. There is a stigma

that employees overusing the internet and other digital technologies are less productive

than others. However, according to the study, 56 percent of working adult feel their

productivity has increased due to internet. As an individual, I rely heavily on internet and

everyone has a knowledge on using internet. If this project will happen our company will
be productive enough to compete with other company because we are in a modern way

of processing a loan. During the past decade, there has been a lot of research focusing

on the internet effects on productivity. The objective of the project is to present the

conclusion that there has an extensive effect of internet in the productivity of the

company. This project also includes a practical example that illustrates how the use of

internet might result in very high productivity improvement by redesigning the entire

business model. However, there are success stories that imply that the internet could be

an important tool in improving productivity or overall performance of the firm. The

internet is indispensable in doing business today but it can also be an indispensable tool

in improving the speed at which business is done. One thing that speeds up business

processes is the ability of the Internet for us to always connected not only with our

colleagues, but more importantly, our customers.

One tools that can be associated with internet is the method study that helps the

company to simplify the work and working method to make a higher productivity.

Method study is essentially concerned with finding better ways of doing things. It adds

value and increases the efficiency by eliminating unnecessary operations, avoidable

delays and other forms of waste. Since we are in operation, I want to find a way to

improve it that is by using method study and internet tool because it will be helpful to

improved and make efficient work procedures. Method study techniques can be applied

effectively in service sector as well. It can be applied in offices, hospitals, banks and

other service organization If both can be successfully applied to the company, it will help

the employee to maximize their time in doing other thing that will also improve the

productivity of the company. With the use of internet and method study, we can make
the process shorter than possible that will not affect its productivity. Simply the work as

possible by using internet and it can make the work easily. It will less time to work in

modern way rather than in old times. The significant advancement in mobile

technologies will allow you to access your work from any location. This has saved time,

cut costs and increased productivity of people across industries. The internet enable

you to understand the latest trend in your respective industry and set a benchmark for

your performance and it will offer opportunities to innovate.

Historical Data
In our past year, it is almost 100,000 are spending in using a paper like

photocopying the loan form and other attachment instead of this we can conclude this

we can lessen the use of paper by providing technology that will help the employee to

access the internet and make the work more easier and faster as productive as can.

Based on the data of other industry, they are using internet and the productivity are

raising as to 30% per year. It was a big help to the company to make some changes like

our company and go to latest and more improvised way of improving the productivity of

the staff which is using technology and internet.

Based on the date given that PNB has the highest growth rate compared to

CARD SME Bank because internet tool will affect. In PNB they can access their product
through internet and the detail of the product that they can offer. Consumer are also

looking for easiest way on accessing the product of other bank that’s way Internet will

affect the growth rate of the company. It will increase the productivity of the company by

the highest percentage of growth rate.

KPI Data
Here are the list of performance indicator of this project.

 Outreach – how many client are being served?

 Collection performance – how well is the MFI collecting its loan?

 Financial sustainability – is the MFI is profitable enough to maintain and expand

its service?

 Efficiency – how well does the MFI control its administrative cost?

 To increase loan disbursement by 30% this year

 Revenue will be increased by 30% this year

 Will be reviewed on monthly basis

 Increase in revenue but decrease in expenses

Identification of the Problem

Our company are very late bloomer in using internet and other technology. The

problem is how the company can adopt the changes in using internet access and other

technology online and how it will affect the growth and productivity of the company.

Other company are now very proficient in using internet in their work while our company
will start to compete with other when this project will raise. Since we have a long

process of approval of loan. I want to see the effect of internet tool and method study if

it will be helpful in increasing the productivity of the company.

Analysis or Study

The analysis of the study is that internet and method study will be helpful enough

to achieve a highest productivity of the company. It is a practical way of using other

technology like internet so that we can compete to the other company who are using

internet basis also. With this kind of tools, we are finding the ways in making our

services highly demandable and it will also help employee to make their work easy so

that they can help in achieving the mutual goals of the company.

Since we want to help the company for the comfortable of the employee and

reduce the cost of expenses. Through the help of the tools we selected which is

method study associated with internet, it will help us to make the work easier and

developing more effective method. I find that method study and internet tool will also

help the company to reduce the cost of expense because method study will help us to

find a way in reducing the cost and internet also help because instead of photocopying

many paper why not save it through e mail or internet. It will make the employee to

make easier to find for specific document if it is save through internet.

Proposed action
 The proposed action of this study is that spend money to technology that will

help the company to achieved highest productivity. Also follow the eight step in method

study which is SELECT, RECORD, EXAMINE, DEVELOP, EVALUATE, DEFINE,

INSTALL AND MAINTAIN. Here are the detailed process that we need to adopt in our

company select the work to be studied, record the relevant facts, examine the way the

job is being performed and challenge its purpose, develop the more practical, economic

and effective method, evaluate different alternatives to develop a new improved

method, define new method, install new method and maintain the new method.

Conclusion
I therefore conclude that internet and method study is the best way to improve

the productivity of the company. In will also reduce the cost of expense in the company

because it will simplify the work when we are using internet. Also by using the method

study we can analyze what we need to focus on and it helps to simplify the work and

working method.

Recommendation
I recommend applying this study in our company so that it will achieve the

highest productivity of the company. Use the tools provided so that it will help to grow

the company as well. I recommend improving work methods and procedures,

determining the best sequence of doing the work, improving the working condition and

eliminating the waste and unproductive in operation.
