○ Dept. of Early Childhood Education askes an applicant should submit the language certificate and the Grantor
Pledge by Academic Advisor(Form5).
2. Qualification
1) Basic Qualifications
○ Nationality
- Foreign nationals whose parents are both foreigners, or
- Foreign nationals who have completed a university program (including pre-university programs with
Elementary-middle-high school) in foreign country.
○ Language Ability: Applicant must satisfy the one of the following conditions
a. TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) grade 3 or higher
b. TOEFL 530 (CBT197, iBT71), TEPS 600 (New TEPS 326), IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, TOEIC 700 or higher
2) Academic qualifications
Course Qualification
Master Those who have completed, or are expected to complete, a B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) degree.
Doctor Those who have completed, or are expected to complete, an M.A.(Master of Arts) degree.
Combined Master Those who have completed, or are expected to complete, a B.A.(Bachelor of Arts) degree
& Doctor with the recommendation of an academic advisor.

3) Notes
○ Applicant should complete their ongoing degree course and submit the final degree certificate
by the end of February 2020. .
★ The applicant who can’t complete the degree course by the end of February 2020, due to a different
academic schedule, should submit the confirmation letter written by the president of the previous school.
○ Applicants who have dual nationality can’t apply for this admission
○ Applicants who are nationals of a country that speaks English as their native language, or legal
language, (USA, UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Ireland) can apply for this admission without
the above language requirements

Successful Applicants
○ To verify the family relationship, the applicant should submit the official document as below.
A. Chinese: Certificate of family relationship (notarized in English or Korean), Hokubu
B. Other: Birth certificate, or certificate of family relationship
C. In case of parent’s death or divorce, you have to submit the additional certificate of death or divorce
○ An applicant who is currently studying the previous course should submit the certificate of a degree to be granted by
November 8, 2019. Then, the applicant should submit an original degree certificate with an academic records verification
by the end of February, 2020.
○ Statement of Financial Affidavit: It should be deposited with a minimum of $18,000 in the sponsor’s name
○ CWNU can only accept valid language test results within the application period. (October 14 ~ November 8, 2019). All
the results should be issued after Ocotober 14, 2017.
○ Except for these requirements, CWNU can request submission of additional documents to verify facts.
○ All applicants should regularly check the website (http://eng.changwon.ac.kr) and their email to confirm the submission and
progress of the admission process.
○ If you apply to the Department of Fine Arts, you must submit a Portfolio of Artwork
※ Dept. of Fine Arts Format: 5inch *7inch, 10 artworks
6. Applicant’s screening
1) Assessment Method: Document screening
★There is additional an interview in dept. of Korean Language & Literature and Dance.
2) Assessment: GPA, Scholastic aptitude, Korean & English language proficiency, Etc.
7. Application Fee
1) Fee: 50,000KW (Department. of Fine Arts <MASTER> : 80,000 KW )
★ Applicants who graduated from cooperating universities are exempted from paying the application fee

8. Important Notes
1) Applications to more than two departments and simultaneous admission to more than two universities are not allowed.
2) Once the application has been formally received, any change to, or cancellation of, the application will not be permitted.
Additionally, the department or major to which you applied cannot change.
3) Changwon National University is not responsible for the problems caused either by mistakes in inputting information or by
any missing documents.
4) Admission may be rescinded if the information applicants provided in their applications and required documents is found to
be false, or if the documents themselves are forged. If it is determined, that admission was obtained by fraudulent means,
after entrance into CWNU or the degree of a sub-course (Bachelor's or Master's degree), subsequent academic achievements
will not be seen as either appropriate or legal.
5) Those applicants who do not submit required documents, fail in meeting the requirements for admission, or do not pay the
application fee will not be granted admission.
6) No filed documents will be returned, and all application fees are nonrefundable.
8) Applicants are required to ascertain whether or not their documents arrive before the deadline and are responsible for any
problems caused by missing documents.
9) The applicant's contact information (mobile phone number) should be included with the application. If any information
changes during the admission period, please report it to the office of International Affairs (☎055-213-2633). Applicants
are responsible for problems arising from disconnected calls.
10) Notifications during the admission period are not given personally. All notifications will be available only on the CWNU
website.
11) Matters not described here follow the general regulations of CWNU governing admission and academic affairs.
9. Notification of Successful Applicant

2) Notes

○ Successful applicants are required to register only in cash within the designated period.
○ If you need to remit the tuition fee to CWNU from overseas, you must remit the tuition fee by July 3 (Thurs), 2019
○ Successful applicants are required to complete the registration within the specified period.
If not, your admission may be rescinded.
○ If successful applicants cannot get a student visa, the tuition fee will be refunded, but the refund commission fee will still
be charged to applicants.
○ After starting the fall semester(Sep 2, 2019), the applicant cannot get a full refund. According to the regulations of
CWNU, the applicant can get a refund.
4) Scholarship
Scholarship Amount
a. Full scholarship to all who continue their degree program in our school (only first semester)
Entrance b. All of tuition 2 to applicants:
Scholarship 1) who achieved over grade 4 of TOPIK, or
2) who achieved over IBT 90, TOFLE577, TEPS 610, IELTS 6.0
Academic 80% of international students will be awarded 3 levels of scholarship in order of merit established by
Excellence their G.P.A in the previous semester (70%) + TOPIK or English Test< IBT, IELTS, TOFLE, TOEIC,
Scholarship TEPS > (30%)
- Full scholarship during 4 semesters ( over GPA 3.5 )
- Requirements
1) Master’s: NRFK’s final acceptance of registration candidacy of a student as a Lead
(First or Corresponding) Author to publish a paper, or as a coauthor to publish 2 papers.
A student of the College of Arts can replace the papers with the submission of 1 or more
Full time performances, exhibitions or presentations of works.
Research 2) Doctor’s
Scholarship - Humanities& Social Science & Arts: NRFK’s final acceptance of registration candidacy of a
studentas a Lead (First or Corresponding) Author to publish a paper
- Natural Sciences & Engineering: SCI (E)’s final acceptance of a student as a Lead (First or
Corresponding) Author to publish a paper. However, the Department of Clothing (Fashion),
Architecture and departments which don’t have SCI(E) level journals are recognized for
qualifying for the criteria of the Humanities, Social Science & Arts

○ You should specify the dormitory type, number of meals in the application, regarding the dormitory guidelines. If you do not,
your dormitory will be designated as type A.
○ The dormitory fee is for one semester (16 weeks), and for the summer and winter vacation periods, you are required to apply
and pay according to separate plans.
○ Food tickets are available for supplementary meals.
○ The payment is due within 3 days of entering Korea.
