Assessment description

Candidates are required to present a case study review in response to the scenario
outlined in Assessment Task 1 by:
 identifying the type of workgroup computer network required
 identifying the equipment and software required
 outlining the data management and security measures to be implemented
 describing the training required for users, including any required skills audit
 outlining a timeline for implementation of the workgroup computer network
 estimating costs for implementation of the workgroup computer network.

Procedure

Candidates are required to:

1. Compile a case study response to the scenario outlined, which:
 identifies the type of workgroup computer network required
 identifies the equipment and software required
 outlines the data management and security measures to be implemented
 describes the training required for users, including any required skills audit
 outlines a timeline for establishment of the workgroup computer network
 estimates the costs for establishment of the workgroup computer network.

 2. Present the case study in the format of a business proposal, in a time-frame as
agreed with your assessor, and make available your printed report for review.
3. Submit all presentation materials and printed report to your assessor.

Task Specifications

You must provide:

 A presentation to a group (or simulated group) of business and operational
managers, outlining the case study findings.
 A written document supporting your presentation, containing a summary of all
research and findings.

Your assessor will be looking for:

 Clear presentation targeted for a business audience.
 Supporting written information available with your presentation.
 Clear identification of the type of workgroup computer network system
required.
 Clear descriptions of:
o all equipment and software required to establish the workgroup computing
network
o the data management and security measures to be implemented for the
workgroup computing network
o the training to be provided to all users of the workgroup computing
network
o a workgroup computing network establishment timeline
o estimated costs for establishing a workgroup computing network.
