I’m Muhammad Syahmi Isyraf, originally from Kota Kinabalu.

Since I am in Kota Kinabalu, I

will share with you 5 new place that I have visited and found the unusual thing in that place. First
thing first, I’ve never imagined that here in Kota Kinabalu, we can have our own river cruise which is
The Klias River. I thought that it would be in another state only such as Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, etc.
Maybe for the other people, they already know about the place for a long time, but as for, I have
never expecting for that here in KK. Actually, KK already Sabah already have 1 but only in
Kinabatangan, and that was far way for me since I don’t have any transportation to go to that place.
Plus, both of my parent didn’t like the activity as well. The Klias River lies around an hour and a half
from the city of Kota Kinabalu and bisects the larger Klias Wetland Mangrove Forest Reserve. If you
come to the reserve, then one things to do is take a trip on a cruise down the Klias River. From the
vantage point of the water you will be able to take in range of animals that come to the river to
bathe and drink and some of these include elegant proboscis monkeys as well as darting fireflies that
hover in the afternoon light. To be honest, that was my first time experience, and I wish I can go
there with my friends on other trips.

Secondly, stilt villages. Since Kota Kinabalu is famous for its original stilt villages which are
located off the coase and are the homes of ethnic groups such as Ubian, Suluk, Iranun and Bajau.
Some of these groups are said to have to Sabah in the 15 th century although many of these areas
have now become known as a haven for illegal immigrants. Some of the villages include Kampung
Tanjung, Kampung Pondo, and Kampung Sembulan, although not all of them are considered safe to
visit. What I want to highlight here is that, although we are in modern era with full of sophisticated
technlology and high building, however, we still have such place here in KK. Every tourist will come
with their own expectation, which says that this city is advanced, but behold the place is still far
behind. This is what we called as Unusual things.

Third, Cabana Retreat. Cabana Retreat a new tourist spot here in Kota Belud, Sabah famous
for its amazing scenery and unique concept of homestay. As soon as the news went out about this
place, many people started coming to Cabana Retreat so I did not have the chance to experience a
stay there. However, just visiting the place was quiet the fun and satisfying in a way. My friends and I
was just able to visit the outer place of Cabana Retreat and could not enter sadly, nevertheless we
could still enjoy some activities that are provided there such as the ATV.

Fourth, Sabah Tea Garden (Explore and Enjoy). This is perhaps the best things to do near
kota kinabalu for a rejuvenating day excursion. Encompassing a tea plantation; this tea garden grows
probably the best tea in the region. You may check in at the Sabah Tea Log house to enjoy the
stunning beauty of sprawling estates with Mount Kinabalu at distant and taste some exotic varieties
of local tea. If you are looking for cheap things to do in Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia, you must visit this
park.

Last but not least, if your adrenaline rush just won’t pacify, then try paragliding at Kota
Kinabalu and you may feel on the top of this world. The scenic views of the mountains from the top
and being in the air with wings is one of akind of experience and something you just cannot miss out
on. If you want to be safe, it’s better to do with a trained professional. So I think, that is all from me.
