parents. The application to the Principal follows the format of a formal letter. In this a student may request
for permission, address his/her issues, and can also suggest something.

Subject: Workshop on Importance of Physical Exercise

This is to bring to your notice that these days students are more engrossed in playing video games and do
not understand the value of physical exercise in their lives. This can be rectified by creating awareness
about the importance of physical exercise through a workshop.
I believe that students need to understand the importance of physical exercise in their overall development
and realise the harm caused by video games. Physical exercise in the form of morning walk and outdoor
games, relaxes the mind, infuses us with energy and keeps us fit. Video games are addictive, spoil our
posture through sitting in one position, and do not contribute anything other than entertainment. Children
need to understand this and curtail the number of hours spent on video games. This workshop can be
conducted during the zero period on any working day.

Therefore, I request you to organize a workshop, to help the students of classes VI to VIII, understand the
importance of physical exercise in our lives.
