CHAPTER I

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

INTRODUCTION

Every individual has their own behavior and one thing that affects the behavior of

a person is family. But there are some cases that parents separate for some reason that

leads family to be that can have also a big impact to their children behavior. That is our

study all about, it's about how being involved in a broken family affect the behavior of

the students who are encountering in this kind of situation

Our society right now is having a lot of problems which students is being

involved like drugs, bullying, violence, poor academic performance and many more

issues that students is highly involved. That is also what we want to know if there is any

connection of being involved in a broken family from these issues that we are hardly

facing that can also be beneficial to the government, teachers, students, parents and to the

society.

This study is important that's why it needs to be conducted. If it fails the

respondents of this study will get upset for they didn't see the results or the expectations

that they expect from the study. And also the problem of the society, government,

teachers and family from the students who are part of broken family will continue and

time will come that it will get more worse.

The researchers conduct this research because it is very important to address this

kind of problem that affect the role of a child as a part in the society. The reason of this

problem have to be studied and have to be given appropriate solution because if not, the

child may have a miserable life.


SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study is beneficial to:

Students: This study would help them especially those students who are in a broken

family to express their thoughts and feelings.

This study will also help for those students who are not broken family to

understand and know the students who is broken family especially if the students who

have bad behavior towards them.

Teacher: This study would help the teacher to know and understand the situation of their

students.

Government: This study will be a big help to the government specially when there is

social problem which students who is broken family is being involved.

Family: This study is also a big help for the family, especially who are involved in a

broken family to be aware of what will be the effects of it to their children


SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

Out of 471 students in Yllana Bay View College 30 students who are broken

family were used to be as a respondent in conducting survey.

This study limits it's coverage to the broken family of Yllana Bay View College

only it's certain purpose is to identify the common effect of involving a broken family to

the student in Yllana Bay View College to have a possible solution regarding of their

problem.

The respondent are free to open their through and give their answer and question

as by a researcher. This study focuses the behavior of the student in Yllana Bay View

College of the current year 2019.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This aims to know the effects of a broken family in the behavioral aspect of a person:

1. What are the effects of broken family to the behavioral aspect of the SHS students in

Yllana Bay View College?

2 How these problems affect his/her perception in life?

3 Why broken family affect the behavior of a child?


METHODOLOGY

For this study to be successful and effective we decided to use a survey

questionnaire that can be answered freely to the respondents for it is the easiest way to

gather data or conduct a survey. And for it fits the problem and it’s the best instrument to

identify or know our respondents.

HYPOTHESIS

The researchers hypothesize that the broken family has a big effect on the

behavior of a person just like being sensitive, introvert, fragile, cruel and many more.

This research can open up the minds of people who do not understand those who

are broken families that undergo a lot of problems. This study also helps out those

persons who are part of a broken family to change their bad perceptions in life.
CHAPTER II

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH METHOD

This study applies descriptive survey. This method is a big help in understanding

the problem even more. It is useful in answering questions that is reliable in using a

questionnaire. To gather data, the researchers used the qualitative approach. Qualitative

approach helps the researchers to dive deeper into the problem and to focus on the

specific problem. That will guide to depth discovery of knowledge and understanding that

have reasons and explanations.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT

The instrument that the researchers used to gather data is a questionnaire. This

questionnaire consists questions that can be freely answered by the respondents. That can

be a reliable source of information that can be used in this study.

VALIDATION OF INSTRUMENT

To assure the validity of the questionnaire it was checked first to the adviser of

this research. Then passed and checked by the principal of Senior High School

Department of Yllana Bay View College to validate that our questionnaire is suited in the

existing problem. Changes and suggestions are needed in finishing the validity of

instrument used.
RESEARCH SUBJECT

In thus study, we will have 50 respondents that are Senior High School students at

Yllana Bay View College. Those students are selected accordingly to the purpose of this

study. Which is appropriate and could give necessary information that are needed in the

study.

RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT

The researchers conducted the study at Yllana Bay View College where the study

could possibly be conducted without having too much inconvenient.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

Before conducting the study the researchers sent an request to the office of the

principal at Yllana Bay View College Senior High School Department to allow them to

conduct a study by giving a questionnaire to the selected 50 Senior High School students.

After it was granted the researchers facilitate the distribution and retrieval of the

questionnaire. And make sure that the respondents answers the questionnaire responsibly.
