Myths, legends and culture


Every culture has myths, stories, legends and folklore. They show what different communities and groups of peoplethink about the
world and the way they perceive it. Oral arts and traditions are a way to preserve and transmit customs and values as well as to shape
behavior. An interesting discovery about myths in cultures is that there are universal myths that are common to different cultures all
around the world. These similarities relate to images, narrative structures, events and characters that created to answer the most
common questions that humans usually have, such as the origin of the universe and the meaning of life. For example, similar myths and
legends about epic cosmic battles or a Great Flood are similar in Christian and Jewish tradition, as well as in Sumerian, Greek, Hindu,
Mayan, and Native American legends. The most similar belief in all cultures.
