1. Why are the Museums important in understanding history?

 In understanding history, artifacts and proofs are

needed in order to uncover a certain thing, an

historian is discovering. These artifacts are primary

sources which can be used in uncovering something that

can change or adds up to the beautiful and colorful

history of a specific place, group of people, or even

in a country. These artifacts which are discovered can

be found in museums. Museums also stores different

things that represents a specific culture. It serves as

evidence in human existence. It is an important

institution that preserves cultural heritage with the

primary intent to collect, preserve, understand, and

exhibit the different relics and artifacts, for a

better understanding of the past.

2. What are some accounts on the development of museums from

the past to the present?

 Museums, in the past, displays different artifacts

without any information, for entertainment, which makes

people not fully understood what is the reason museums

are truly intended for. Today, museums have made

changes, including creating different sections for

ages, for purpose, and per dates. There are also

different museums that are created throughout the

Philippines. Many artifacts are still discovered that

is presented and stored in Philippine Museums for the

purpose of giving not only entertainments, but

information to its citizens.

3. Why is it said that museums represent the “pieces of past”?

Explain your answer.

 Museum represents the pieces of the past because this

place is where different kinds of things or evidence

from the start of humanity, from different discoveries,

arts and literature pieces from the past are stored.

These evidences make up the history of a certain place.

4. What are some of your observations about the museums in the

country?

 When I visited the San Agustin Museum, which became

operational when we visited it, and the National

museum, I observed that most of the artifacts there are

highly protected. It has different ways on how it

should be protected, from the lights, to the heat, and

to its storage. Philippines truly give importance to

those inside of the museums. Sadly, if museums are

compared to malls, bars, or any other places, museums

have few visitors.

5. What can be done to encourage local people to visit museums

and historical sites?

 Motivation is one that drives a person to do things.

During the history classes, a teacher should always

motivate well students for them to have the eagerness

to visit local museums. Educational field trips can

also be done to visit museums. For the other local

people, we can encourage them through the different

social media platforms. Museums can offer promos so

that citizens will be encourage to visit, but most

especially, museums should tell citizens how important

it is to visit museums.
