Company Background

LCC-Liberty Commercial Ceneter, Inc. is one of the pioneer commercial establishments in Albay
Province and in the Bicol Region, engaged in retail business. It primarily operates Supermarkets,
Department stores, Food Operations, Mall Operations and Property Developments.

It was founded by Mr. Tan Chu Lim and his wife Mrs. Tan Sy Sa in 1945 at Tabaco City Albay and
the established small store was once called Liberty Bazaar. Driven to serve a greater number of
customers and provide them with a wider assortment of merchandise and services, LCC took its Tabaco
store into the next level, expanding it into a full-line department store and supermarket. The continued
growth and success of LCC extended into the different parts of Bicol Region as the company put up more
branches to provide wider selection of grocery items, a more hip and fashionable department store, a
fun-filled entertainment center, a mall with a variety of boutiques, novelty shops, and a food court
where one can feel comfortable and at home.’

The company is commited to a development agenda that relies on the Filipino entrepreneurial
spirit as an engine that will enable the country to meet the challenges of the new century. For over 60
years of experience and leadership in retail industry, LCC has long been considered as a truted friend
who knows Bicolano consumers by heart, serving them, always there reaching out, tpuching lives and
attending to their daily needs.

Recommendation

They say, “Experience is the best teacher”, hence we are very thankful for the LCC-Liberty
Commercial Center for letting us have our internship in their company. We learned a lot of skills that can
boost and apply my knowledge in the field of Electrical Engineering. We also obtained sufficient
experiences that will prepare ourselves for future developments and challenge ourselves to bring out
the best of our potential.

May we recommend some of the things that we observed and thought that need to be changed.
First, they should have let the girls to experience the other technical sides of the work to let them have
the knowledge on how the things work in real life. Second, we should have the rotation of work and
department to make us, the interns, have the capability understand how things work in other
department. Third, the company itself should have the program for interns wherein when they were
deployed, they all have their designated work and concrete day-to-day activities throughout the
internship to maximize the time they have inside the company.
