BMW's novel audio concept involves loudspeakers
in HiFi versions 10 and stands out for its neutral, 4 midrange speakers, D=100mm
unobtrusive sound. The loudspeakers permit a
homogeneous playback as well as a higher and 4 woofers, D=160mm
undistorted maximum level due to their enhanced E81/82/87, E90/91, E60/61, E63/64, E65/66

Special vehicle-specific features: 6-channel power amplifier with active crossover
network and vehicle-specific equalising

2 central woofers are positioned under the front
seats. The necessary enclosure volume for the 10-channel power amplifier with active crossover
central woofers is obtained by connecting the network and vehicle-specific equalising
loudspeakers to the side thresholds.

Special woofers with Carver technology were Midrange/treble range 4 x 25 watt
developed specifically for the Roadster. These
woofers offer good bass fidelity even when the Bass range 2 x 40 watt
convertible top is open.

loudspeakers. This is achieved by the exact
alignment of the dome tweeters, while the
directivity of the speakers and the distance
between them complement each other
perfectly.
• High output of power amplifiers permits full-
bodied, low-distortion sound at all amplitude
ranges.
• The complex signal processing system
maintains uniform sound quality at all driving
speeds.
• In contrast to retrofitted solutions, the system's
elegant apperance is in line with the BMW high-
quality interior. No additional installation efforts
with the risk of damage to the inside panelling.
• Fully compatible with the BMW radio units and
the requirements for electromagnetic
compatibility.
• With a power amplifier on each loudspeaker,
the system can be operated at maximum
output level with only minimal distortion - more
power is available for each loudspeaker.
• By using multichannel loudspeaker systems,
the frequency range can be distributed over
several loudspeakers, providing a clearer and
more differentiated transmission of bass,
midrange and treble frequencies and creating a
full-bodied sound due to forceful basses and
brilliant trebles.
