WHAT IS INFERENTIAL STATISTICS?

1. bring out 5 important concepts

Inferential statistics is a technique used to draw conclusions about a population

by testing the data taken fromthe sample of that population.

Random sampling is the best type of sampling method to use with inferential
statistics. It is also referred to as probability sampling. In this method, each
participant has an equal probability of being selected in the sample.

Snowball sampling involves selecting participants on the basis of information

provided by previously studied cases. This technique is not applied for inferential
statistics.

Probability is the mathematical possibility that a certain event will take place.
They can range from 0 to 1.00

Sampling Error: Inferential statistics takes sampling error (random error) into
account. It is the degree to which a sample differs on a key variable from the
population.

Confidence Level: The number of times out of 100 that the true value will fall
within the confidence interval.

2. Why the article is important.

It is of utmost importance since it can respond to many of the needs that we require in many
aspects of society, since its task is to analyze experimental data, with the aim of collecting new
information, from a sample, or its types of samples, yielding a new study hypothesis.
3. Give the equation (consult it) of the given concepts, if there is no give the process

The confidence level is the probability that the parameter to be estimated is in the
confidence interval.
The confidence level (p) is designated by 1 - α, and is usually taken as a percentage.
The most common confidence levels are: 90%; 95% and 99%.

0.90 0.05 1.645

0.95 0.025 1.96

0.99 0.005 .575

The level of significance is designated by α.
