AROUND 400 repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), who were stranded in Metro Manila
for months, have arrived in Cebu via two separate boat trips Saturday, May 23, 2020.

The OFWs were aboard 2Go passenger vessels M/V St. Michael the Archangel, which arrrived in
Cebu around 10 a.m., and M/V St. Francis Xavier, which arrived at around 3:15 p.m.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Erick Salcedo, Philippine Coast Guard-Central Visayas spokesperson, said
based their 4 p.m. data, a total of 249 OFWs aboard M/V St. Michael the Archangel arrived in
Cebu.

Salcedo said they were expecting around 253 OFWs to arrive in Cebu from the vessel based on the
initial masterlist given to them.

"The 253 was the given masterlist ng 2Go, pero we always depend on the actual, as per profiling
made by Owwa in-charge," he said.

Of the 249 OFWs who arrived in Cebu, 160 are residents of Cebu, 67 are from Bohol and 22 are
from Leyte.

M/V St. Michael the Archangel left the Port of Cebu for its next port of call in Dumaguete City at
around 2:10 p.m.

M/V St. Francis Xavier, on one hand, carried around 209 OFWs.

As of 4:30 p.m. Saturday, authorities have yet to finish subjecting the OFWs from M/V St. Francis
Xavier to the required protocols. They also have yet to consolidate the exact number of
passengers that arrived in Cebu. (WBS)
