 PREFACE
Internship report is an opportunity for the students to apply theoretical
knowledge and to gain practical experience about public and private organizations
and their practices and procedures. Training plays an important part in developing
the managerial skills of the people. Every organization is in search of capable &
efficient administrators, who are properly trained. This training opportunity is
provided to the students of Bachelor of Business Administration through the
internship program.

I choose to do my internship in Bank of Khyber, Corporate Branch/Head Office

Peshawar Canttbranch because of the fact that it is a part of the most successful
organizational setup in the country and has had in recent years .

Two months period is not sufficient to understand the operations of

organizations. But still it was a great experience to have a feel of the practical
world and keeping in view the limitations of the study, this seems a reasonable
attempt. Internship in Bank of Khyber was a true learning experience for me. I
have exclusively studied and observed the organizational structure, Remittances
department and customer services.

First and foremost is the Bank of Khyber Branch staff, especially the branch
manager Mr.Tariq Masroor, Miss Asma Qazi and Mr.Adnan Zahoor guided me to
get practical knowledge of different functions of the bank. Secondly, I pay
heartiest thanks to my supervisor Prof. Abdul Wahid who helped me in the
documentation and organization of this report.

All prayers for almighty Allah, merciful to his mankind who created the
universe to introduce his selected persons to all creatures.

By the grace of Allah I am able to complete my internship report .I pay

thanks to the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) from the depths of my heart, as he
provided guideline in every field of life and taught us the lesson of courage,
struggle, not to give up, no matter how difficult the task is.

I owe an immense debt to the below noted patrons who paid full attention
and provided extraordinary help, cooperation and able guidance, to complete this
difficult task. Amongst these first of all I am highly indebted to my Supervisor

 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Banking is one of the most sensitive businesses all over the world. Banks
play very important role in the economy of a country and Pakistan is no exception.
Banks are custodian to the assets of the general masses. The banking sector
influences and facilitates many different but integrated economic activities like
resources mobilization, poverty elimination, production and distribution of public
finance.

For the completion of Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, every

student is required to undergo eight weeks internship within organization.

I selected the Bank of Khyber of Pakistan for my internship, and this report is
concerned with the banking function in Bank of Khyber. The internship is to serve the
purpose of acquainting the students with the practice of knowledge of business
administration.

This internship report is broadly divided in four sections with number of

chapters required in each section.

The briefing of each chapter is as follows:

Section-I

Chapter One: contains the background of study, purpose of study, scope of study
and research methodology.

Section-II:

Chapter Two :containing History of Banking.

Chapter Three containing Banking Sector.

Chapter Four: containing Introduction, vision, mission, objectives and organizational

structure of BOK.
