(Willington, CT – May 24, 2020) – State Police continue to search for a suspect who
killed one man and injured another during an assault in Willington Friday morning.
Just after 9:00 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2020, Troop C Troopers responded to the incident on
Mirtl Road. They found the victims, two elderly men, suffering from injuries after an assault
with an edged weapon. It is unclear what prompted the assault. One victim has succumbed to
his injuries. The deceased victim has been identified as Theodore Demers, 62, of Willington.
The suspect, Peter Manfredonia, DOB 2/2/97 is considered armed and dangerous.
Connecticut State Police, along with their law enforcement partners (State/Local/Federal)
have been actively and continuously attempting to locate Mafredonia.
On Sunday, May 24, 2020, it was learned that Manfredonia left the area of Turnpike Rd.,
Willington after committing a home invasion where pistols and long guns were stolen.
Manfredonia took the home owner’s vehicle, traveled to Derby where he abandoned the stolen
car in the area of Osborndale State Park.
A 2016 black Volkswagen Jetta, CT registration plate AU 78524, was taken from the
scene in Derby, and recently located in New Jersey near the Pennsylvania border. New Jersey
and Pennsylvania law enforcement agencies are actively searching for the suspect.
